I would like everyone who becomes a member to please introduce yourselves and the profession you are in or how you may assist members in this group. This is the perfect timing to brag a little here. Let us know what you've done for the community concerning dogs, helping unfortunate dogs, or just the general well being of dogs.

Wow Melissa, sounds like you landed the dream job! I'd love to get a mini-horse -
I wonder if somehow that parallels with my love of corgis?!?
Welcome to the group,

Thank you for the invite! I am a equitherapy coordinator, that jst means I get to play with a mini horse all day while teaching my clients with Mental Retardation basic animal husbandry.
I have jst my Walker boy for now, but am in the search for my dream female! corgis are very impressive, and i enjoy every second with my smart lil boy!

Thanks for the invite! :) I am a hairstylist, I own my own business - I try to behave in a professional manner, but sometimes the redhead (like a corgi) comes out! LOL!! I have two corgis now, Twinkie and Lilly. My profile pic is Ein, my first corgi. All rescues! :)

I don't know if I am qualified as a professional any more since I am a retired insurance manager but I was one and I certainly am committed to corgis! My father raised and showed beagles in field trails so I grew up with dogs and encountered my first corgi ten years ago quite serendipitously. I have served on our local school board for the past 18 years but otherwise I am home with two corgis and a more recently added grand dog, doberman. I have done some rescue with cats, currently have two great ones I could not part with. This is a great group and I am happy to join.

Thanks for the invite, Wendy. I liked working with dogs as a child, caring for a local dachshund breeder's 20 dogs, when her regular girl was on holidays, (The best remedy for a child who had been attacked by a vicious great Dane -negligent owner). My first dog was a red male cardigan corgi named 'Rookie'. Such a sweetheart, gone to the bridge many years ago but not forgotten. After I had rescue dogs,a German shepherd, Belgium shepherd, an Australian cattle dog, a terrier, and a retriever, all who have now joined Rookie. I am an author & tutor, and married to the son of a great Dane breeder. Corgi's have won him over & I now have Holly, who I took to her title, Aus. Ch. Milnholm Hurdy Gurdygirl. My husband Greg is a teacher. We live near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.

We are both retired. Roger from the Air Force and I from hospital admin. We are the proud parents of Chepstow (red) and Tenby (tri). Roger is from the UK and our boys are named after towns in Wales. Chepstow turned 4 last week, he is our first Corgi and we are hooked. When he was 1 we decided to get another one. Decided to help and take a rescue. Tenby is now 3 1/2 , it was a long slow uphill battle, plenty of tears and extra gray hair, due to his behavioral and social issues.....but he has turned into the most wonderful little boy. His first 6 months were pure hell but he has made our lives heaven on earth.

I'm so happy to see the involvement of our members to help one another. Anything we do..great or small...in the eyes of the beholder is a profession. Being just a mommy to your children and dogs is the most under paid positions but the most valuable. Keep up the good work..and you do belong here.

Congratulations to all other accomplishments amongst the group. What a thrill to read what you all have done. Keep up the strides forward and best of luck in your work.

Hey Sarah Osborn -- I was teaching when I got Bertie Wooster! He came to live with me during the summer break, and I thought that I would gradually leave him alone at home for longer and longer periods so that by the fall, he would be adjusted to the work day schedule. Lo and behold, once he arrived, I couldn't leave the house -- I even loved watching him sleep, he was so cute! My first few days back at school were agony, I missed him so much. So I hung his pictures in my classroom and he became our 5th grade mascot.
