Welcome to another Iowan to the list. Eastern or Western Iowa? Did you get GiGi as a show prospect? There's actually not a large contingent of pems in Iowa but a few people venture in from IL and MN to show. I've been showing pems and cardigans for about 12 years now though now it's mostly cardigans. Can't say the kennel name is familiar but hey, I keep running into new people.

The Iowa shows start up in January around here. Gets really crazy in March, April and May, then quiets down to one a month during the summer. More then welcome to have you join us at the shows as this spring is the debut of some of the cardi kids from the Dirty Dozen litter.

Again-welcome!

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner - just getting used to this website since I am a new Corgi owner. I joined this group because I am interested in showing my dog possibly when she is old enough and was trying to get an idea of what that's all about. About me:

I got my puppy, GiGi, from a breeder in Iowa (Cupids Kiss Kennels, don't worry, I triple-checked them and made sure they were reputable) - She will be 12 weeks old on Friday, I've now been her mommy for about 3 weeks - and the other puppy is Teddy... a pomeranian who belongs to my best friend who spends a lot of time at my apartment.

Anything else anyone wants to know, shoot! Thanks!

joker is my paper shredder. i don't care what kind of paper. he is also the official "if it drops on the floor it's mine" this dog comes up with things that i don't know where they come from. and they truely think they are doing us a favor. when the dirty dozen did that, alec should have grabbed the camera. that would have been a great future picture to remind you of what can happen when you think about breeding in the future.

All the other dogs are fine. No wait, rePete likes to pull the other dogs crate mats into her crate. But that's an easy fix. Ok, wait, rePete also likes to flip her bowl full of food and share.
I see a pattern here--it's Peterman that's the cause of all chaos--she must have taught the puppies.

My crew I only have one paper shedder and that is Jasper but if you leave the paper towel on any one dog kennel...Jasper just says past the paper towel please and magically when you get home it is shredded all over in his kennel. Lucy is the dish rag queen..not mater how high I put the dish rag or were on the counter she gets it. I swear she has the other corgis stacking on command so that she can get up to reach it since she is just 5 months old.

Yes there is a benefit to the white madness they caused. I've been breeding for 10 years now and this by far is the most challenging litter I've had. From whelp to now, nothing has been easy and I truly appreciate the past litters where the dams whelped easy and there were only a few puppies. It's the little things you begin to appreciate. .

Good luck on the pending puppies. Wishes for a safe, easy and daylight whelp! And if you need more puppies, glad to ship a few of the Dozen over to you.

I joked at work that I'm giving away puppies. The catch is that they have to take them all and take them tonight. The best time last night was when all 12 were piled on the dog bed in the living room, snoring and dreaming. I could walk without one attached to my feet or have a concern about them drawing blood.

Alec walked into the study aka puppy room/pen, yesterday morning and it was white. Prestine white.....they had found a brand new roll of paper towels and in the 1/2 hr that I had been gone to work, destroyed it into a zillion pieces. He looked at them, asked what they thought they were accomplishing, met with muffled arooos, turned and walked back down stairs. Left them with their chaos.

I'm still finding shredded paper towels in the puppy pen this morning.

I find out Wed how many Fiona is going to have. I have been praying for a good and normal delivery. Between 2 and 7 I will be happy. They are quite active, you can see them poke out every so often and she started producing milk..not much but if you sqeeze her nipples a little comes out. So excited! I will be sleeping with her in her last week.
