About Me:
I am a grandma, wife and mom. My empty nest was filled by 2 wonderful corgis. Both have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and so has my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost our sweet corgi Izzy suddenly due to liver failure April of 2016.Our Cardigan, Watson is two and a total social butterfly and licking goofball. Supposedly Cardis are more serious than pems but not our Watson. We were very fortunate to be able to add a beautiful Wentworth Pembroke the end of April. Lexi is a tri colored corgi and just as cute as can be. Watson is in seventh heaven playing constantly with Lexi. Corgis are so fun and adaptable! We were able to attend the Florida Corgi picnic last November. It was awesome seeing about 250 corgis fraping around. Our cats, Cheech and Chong add to the hair and fun at our house. I love to walk in the Lake Lansing North Park in the woods and travel with the dogs and my husband in our RV.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Lexi is a tri colored Pembroke. She is still a baby but quite amazing as a smarty pants.
Watson is two year old Cardigan that alternates between being a little cuddlier to being absolutely wild. We also have two cats that like to cuddle. Life is never dull or hair free at my house.
I had to help my beautiful tri colored corgi, Sparty, over to the Rainbow Bridge after a bout with cancer and my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost Buffy many years ago and recently our sweet Izzy due to liver failure. It was so difficult and a piece of my heart went with them but I feel very lucky to have discovered corgis and this web site of great people.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Thank you Bev. My son makes the cement corgis. I love your pictures! Wendy and Lily
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

We all love the bad boys! Poor Lucy. She's so good that she's not getting any copy. ; )
However, she did let Rafa who was boss when they fought over––can you believe––an earthworm!

Rafa is my first ever tri. I have heard that tris are more mischievous. Has anyone else heard this? I'm starting to believe it!
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

That's funny what you say about your red and whites. I also had a couple of red and whites that were super sweet but no rocket scientists! And one that was super smart but not super sweet to anyone but family. Lucy is a red and white and is super smart and sweet. However Rafa may be a bit more affectionate. He's very smart. You'd never know it to look at him. You look at Lucy and immediately see the intelligence in her eyes. She used to unnerve me when she was a puppy because she could out-stare anyone. Great concentration. Tilts her head if we use a new word. Knows every move we make sometimes before we know. She's got dark round eyes and is definitely a quality corgi––both parents champions. Better pedigree than Jack and me. Rafa didn't even come with papers. He has light, small eyes that belie his intelligence. He's smart as a whip. I always told Jack that you have to be smart to be funny. Rafa is one funny and smart little cookie. You should see him jump and try to open the door knob when Jack leaves the room. Or the time I saw him do a slight adjustment on his bed and then looked at me like he was an angel. I noticed his adjustment and took a peek. Sure enough he moved to hide Whitney's flip flop under him.
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

I never really thought about it before but definitely my smarter corgis were the most challenging as puppies. I guess we quickly forget the puppy stage, like childbirth, or we'd never have more kids or puppies. My bad boys were definitely smart and bold. We love them all but oh those bad boys make for some great stories. Lucy was a little monster of a puppy. My kids never thought she'd fly right. But, I knew she'd be a great one. Now Lucy and I look at each other and roll our eyes at Rafa's crazy antics.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

Hey Bev, Was it you that recommended a specific type of glucosamine to buy? I can't find the posting and would like to buy it for my guys. Please let me know and have a happy thanksgiving! We're flying to NY tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about Rafa and Lucy, but we have a great guy that stays at our house with them. But, it's my first time leaving Rafa since we rehomed him.
  • Shepdog

Aw, Bev... thank you. :) He was a grand old cat, and we'll miss him. But it is funny how much little Sophie loves her Simon; apparently it was meant to be! :D
  • Carlie

Thanks for the comment. Orzo will be 2 in March, when did you get your Izzy? Your pups are so cute.
  • Dyllan

Thanks for your comment about leaving Dyllan on his birthday....its just sad for me!! I see you have a big dog in your family too, your pictures are great! Check mine out and you will see Dyllans big sister Korie a german sheppherd, he is the boss of her but she doesnt mind ...thanks again,,,Jane
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

I love your photos, esp with your kids posed by the statues. They are so beautiful. I need to weed through mine and delete a lot, ditto with my video. Meantime I read your post about Chanukah starting Thur. Is that true?? Talk about early!!!
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

I had no idea that Hanukah begins tomorrow. That's what happens when you have no kids in the house. We stopped giving gifts for Chanukah because my kids got so cranky (greedy!) waiting for Jack to come home to light the candles and get their presents. Instead, we lit the candles, and gave presents on Christmas, minus a tree.
  • Renee and Lacey

    Happy Hanukkah!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Loved looking through your pics, love them!! That is funny about your kids being impressed with you having pics of them in your wallet :) Come to think of it, I really should get some in my wallet...lol...with all the pics I take, you think I would!!
  • Joanna, Rainy and Calvin

Thank you!  I hope you are all enjoying the cold weather!

  • Judi, Dawn, Soffie & Griffyn

Thanks Bev!  Yup 15 is downright cold!!   But there's talk we may get down into the 30's tonight and tomorrow night!!  And Sarasota is going to be even colder!!  Yikes!!  : )

  • Ellen Andersen

Have a wonderful holiday full of treats, stuffies, belly rubs, and fun!
  • Molly and Isabella

Hi Bev!  Thanks for the post on my blog.  I'm sorry Sparty barfed under your tree!  However, I think that I would have preferred that to worrying that Isabella ate glass!!  Never a dull moment...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

  • Tammi

Look at your gorgeous babies!! I will post pix of our new addition when she/he gets here. Have a terrific holiday!! (c: Tammi R.

  • Marcia & MoJo

Thanks. MoJo is a little cutie & she knows it. Now if we could just get the potty training done!
  • Marcia & MoJo

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  We have good days and bad days.  She isn't quite 5 months old yet, so I know it is too early to expect miracles.  It will happen, just have to be patient.  So where is Haslett in MI?  We are familiar with parts of the state, especially the UP where we have vacationed the last three years.
  • Kayla Rae and Rowdy

Thank you! He's been my little shadow since I took him home... and he's so friendly and already potty-trained! I couldn't ask for a better puppy :)
  • Marcia & MoJo

We haven't visited that part of the state, we tend to stick close to the lakes!  Love New Buffalo, Traverse City and the UP.  We say when we retire we will move to the UP.  It is a truly beautiful place.  Just took MoJo to the vet this morning for last round of shots and she weighed 12.5 lbs and almost 4 months old already.  The baby is growing up.

  • Renee and Lacey

Happy New Year (2 weeks late) to all corgis and their admirers from Renee and Lacey.
  • Roger/Laurie

    Hi Bev,

Garth was wonderful. I was so happy we got tickets.  He was just doing a few shows in Nashville for the flood relief. He hasn't missed a step in his years of retirement. I have been a die hard fan since 1989.

    Happy New Year

  • Debbie, Sadie & Joey

Thank you! I love your cute Babies too! Your Dobie looks so sweet. How did she come to live with you? And aren't Corgis awesome?!!! I want another one!
  • WhiteDove

They had just met too. . .funny how animals can be. . . .
  • Laura and Maggie Moo

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

  • Cheryl Lyons

One left, she may become a permanent resident at my place!
  • Cheryl Lyons

Playing message tag with Lakeshore Corgi rescue on her...Hopefully she will be listed soon.  She would have been listed in October when I got her, but then found out she was preggo...It has been a huge learning experience to say the least, and an emotional one too.  But I have found wonderful homes, thanks to My Corgi...great communitity! I have one left, someone at my office is interested, otherwise, she may like I said, reside with us.  dont' know yet!  I know I did the right thing by keeping the Mom and seeing her through the pregnancy; it was the right thing to do.
  • Diana Stone (Nett)

Thank-you Bev! Sunny is my first home grown champion and I couldn't be prouder than if she were my own child! (which she practically is since I delivered her, ha ha) She is so smart (and serious)! She wants to be an anthropologist when she grows up! Her half sister Panda is due to whelp (by Sunny's sire) in 2 weeks so lets see if I can pick another little future champion from the litter! My corgis (all 7) say "Hi" to yours! Take Care, Diana
  • Diana Stone (Nett)

Thanks Bev- It actually goes back farther. I picked her mom because of her breeding, kind eyes and beautiful head. I chose her sire because of his champion parents, strong color and I wanted a red pup with no collar (like him). I guess you could say Sunny was "custom ordered"! She looks like a little red fox. The minute she was born I told her she was going to be my champion someday, but I'd never shown. Sunny is so special that, despite my "stage fright" I decided she deserved to be all she could be. Now I love showing and she's such a ham! Her "brother" Jackson is also half way to his title and my little Mr. Wiggins has been showing in the novice puppy classes. Wish us luck!.... Your fellow corgi lover, Diana
  • GALE FARRELL

Lobsters are what cape cod dogs play with, and Mags loves the moving claws. Then we get to eat them, Mags likes hers with no butter.
  • ♥Deborah

    Hi Bev,

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my pictures! I just got done looking at yours and I must say they are wonderful! Question: Where is Haslett located? I'm in Pierson ~ just about 45 miles north of Grand Rapids...

  • ♥Deborah

That's not so very far away! It's good to know there are Corgi lovers everywhere! Do you and your Corgis ever get over this way?
  • ♥Deborah

I live on Little Whitefish Lake, near Howard City. There are three lakes in very close proximity: Little Whitefish, Big Whitefish, and Bass Lake. It's almost directly north of Grand Rapids. Ever been this way? Holland is not very far, maybe a half hour drive. What time of the year are you in this area?
  • Annie Marshall

Thanks Bev! Your corgi and dobie are adorable! My sister helps out with a doberman rescue is Springfield, MO!
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

@bev levy - It was a very good sofa. He has destroyed so much over the months. Just when we think he's outgrowing this behavior, it comes back with a vengeance. His puppy hi-jinks are no longer funny––they are creating too much stress. He can't be left inside or outside w/o constant vigilance, to the point where we can't relax. I've trained many corgis over 40 yrs, but never had one as as difficult. We're working on getting an experienced behavioral trainer and if that doesn't work, we will have to think about re-homing him. It would break our hearts. But the tension he creates has started to outweigh the joy from his exuberant and sweet nature. I'm bereft...
