About Me:
Plain and simple, I'm crazy about corgi's. I have two tri-colors and would love to have more.

I work full time and have a demanding but rewarding job. My son is a law enforcement officer and my daughter is in college majoring in art education. I've been married to my best friend for over 27 years and we love our life together. I am blessed!

I've told my husband I think three corgi's would be good. He rolls his eyes. And to think everyone thought I'd have the "empty nest syndrome." Hehe....I'm having a ball!

About My Corgi(s):
Chloe will be two years old on May 24, 2008. Chloe actually belongs to my daughter but with Jillie off to college, Chloe has become my companion. Chloe is a very intelligent dog. She seems to understand exactly what I tell her. I love it when she cocks her head sideways and listens. We have fun watching you tube together, especially if there is another corgi on the screen! She loves to fetch the frisbee and does a lot of what I call "nascar" track racing through the house and outside. It can be quite hilarious to watch! She loves walks and when things aren't going quite as she thinks they should....is good at doing the heavy sigh "humphhh' and going somewhere that I can still see her, heavy sigh, head between paws and rolls her eyes at me. She has the most wonderful personality. Everyone who meets her wants her. She claims my husbands lazy boy recliner whenever he's not in it. Very funny to watch their interaction over the chair ownership. She sleeps with me at night just like a two year old would. As crazy as I am about her, she's still clearly Jillie's dog when she's home. Chloe loves to travel and was the perfect traveler when we traveled over 2,000 miles this last Christmas.

We love Chloe so much we decided to get another corgi. Cooper was born November 19, 2007. My husband and I enjoy time with these two...life is never dull! However, bringing a new little guy into our home has changed the dynamics. Chloe is pretty much a spoiled teen and Cooper is just a rowdy pup. He has endearing qualities which clearly are part of the breed. He's actually good for Chloe as she is beginning to learn to share (attention and toys). Cooper knows his place in the pecking order though and we love him. He is pretty fearless and already loves to go with Bob in the truck. He's much stockier than Chloe and one ear still hasn't stood up. He looks a bit goofy with one ear up and one ear down. Potty training Cooper is a bit challenging since I work long hours but he's doing well.

Chloe's Corner

Hello everyone! My name is Chloe Covey Sweet (hehe....at least that's what my pedigree says). My humans call me Chloe!

I came to live with my family in July 2006. I was just a little squirt. My new owner smelled so good when she picked me up! I rode on her lap the whole way home. I was a good little traveler the very first day. She hugged me a lot and gave me lots of kisses. I loved sleeping with her at night and cuddling up right beside her. She had fuzzy little toys for me and she took me everywhere. I didn't mind the leash at all and we started going on walks. My owner has juvenile fibromyalgia and walks help her manage her condition so we go on lots of walks. I get so excited when she reaches for the leash. I really love to go for walks. I am especially fascinated with butterflies. I love to just sit down and watch them. Now that I'm older and respond to voice commands, my humans let me go out in the yard without a leash. I love that freedom! I can chase birds but still love to just sit down and watch the butterflies. Squirrels are quite fun but I haven't caught one yet. I like to sit outside and cock my head sideways and listen to the birds.

I LOVE to talk to my humans. I learned that "no bark" meant you can talk instead so boy...do I talk! I still "alarm bark" when someone or something is outside but that's an okay bark. I make a lot of noises when I talk....my humans laugh and talk right back. It usually ends with me jumping in their laugh for pets and kisses!

When they whisper, "on your mark, get set, go!" I know to run to the door and go chase down the tomcat outside. I'm really fast but I still never catch them. I sure keep them out of my humans yard though!

I get really excited when Jillie loads me up in the pickup. That usually means we're going to the farm and I'm going to help herd the pigs or cattle. Wahoo! Gosh I love to do that. And I'm not a sissy girl....I LOVE the mud puddles. Jillie has to give me a bath and wash my paws sometimes so I don't get messy mud or pig mud on everything.

My very favorite treat is a dingo bone. Geez....I'd do anything for a dingo bone. They're kind of expensive though and now with Cooper here, we get dog biscuits...but they're okay!

I love to travel and go in the car. My humans take me lots of places. I know how to wait patiently in the car while they're in a building. I'm always so happy to see them when they come back out. I love to go through drive through windows. Sometimes a human hands me a dog biscuit but sometimes I get a cheeseburger! Yikes....it's so good!

Sometimes Jillie's mom takes me to her work. I get really excited when I see her with the leash because that means today I will be a pet therapy dog. She has an office where I can chill until someone comes to visit me. Then I go on walks and visit people in wheelchairs. When I get tired, I go back to her office and lay flat on my back, on her couch and sleep! Life is SO good.

I absolutely love the snow. This winter we've had a lot of snow and I get so excited. I love it when it's up over my back and I can run through it and make tunnels. I love to put my nose down on the snow and then flip up the snow. Jillie and Ethan play with me in the snow...i love to chase snowballs. And when they make snow angels..i run around and jump and bark. It's so much fun and I just love it when they are home. Ethan is a football kicker and I love to go help catch the football. They play with me a lot and I love to snuggle with them on the couch.

So...a few weeks ago, a new corgi came to live with me. I'll write more on my thoughts about this.....later. Woof out.

Hello everyone! I just knew there had to be a place on the internet to blog about corgi's! I have a myspace but wanted to find folks who loved these amazing dogs as much as I do!

I'll work on getting photos and videos uploaded. I'm excited to look at pictures of other corgi's....i have a fondness for the tri's but love any corgi. Not only are they the cutest dogs ever, their personality is amazing! Right now as I write, Miss Chloe is curled up on the couch beside me. She's my best… Continue

Poor Chloe. So much more emotion there than we give them credit for. I'm glad she has adjusted to your husband! When Chloe was on Prednisone did she have bad gas?

Kim, Thank you for your words!
I am so in love with Court,
my grandmother just passed and I am crying,
he is coming right up to me and lying
at my feet.
He had a playdate with one of my best friend's
dogs and he set a boundary quite gently
and the 2 played for 2 hours. Not so
with my mother who has a rescued Keeshond
who loves me and I her, but I didn't get to
spend time with her this weekend visit
because Court is only 10 days with me and I
thought leaving him in the car to visit with
Pepper might not be the best idea.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
you dealt with the nipping thing, how did you do it?
I'm doing the 'ouch, no bite' right when he bites
(usually while kissing)...
he had been shot and running abandoned and injured,
was found beg. of Nov...and he's just a year or so
old...
you seem to have a lot of personal experience with corgis
and an engagin way to write about all aspects of their lives.
BEST WISHES< Court and Leila

I thoroughly enjoyed looking through your Corgi pictures. They are adorable. Your daughter is a beauty too. My two girls are 19 and 21 and the dogs miss having them at home.

Thanks Kim. I always get a chuckle looking at other people's pics too - they have so many of the same quirks, I know exactly what was going on when some of the people took their pics. :-) Chloe is a pretty girl, and it looks like she knows how to work the camera (and mom!) just as well as Emmy does!

I was so excited for Emmy to meet another corgi because we don;t have any other local corgi friends. Unfortunately Hugo was not really quite as "nuts" of a playing partner as Emmy prefers, so she ditched him rather quickly to go play with her best friend in the playgroup.. a beagle named Lillie. It was Hugo's first visit, so maybe it was a little much for him, hopefully they will be a better match next time. :-)
