Okay, so today I took Fergie to her first vet visit.  She is not due for another vaccination until next week, but I wanted to have at least one positive vet visit under her belt.  Well - the best…Continue

Fergie cops an attitude

hello everyone,Here is the situation.....10 mos old sweet, demure little Fergie who has learned to love playing with other pups, and safe strangers, has suddenly(within the last 3 mos) gotten very aggressive when I apply her monthly heartworm/flea tick preventative. Aggressive to the point of trying to bite me. This is the same dog who tolerates my 7 year old wrapping her up in an Ariel blanket on a daily basis. She has also gone from willingly letting me clip her toenails, to now having them…See More

How contagious is ringworm?

Posted on May 19, 2010 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

Our old girl Minnie just tested positive for ringworm and is currently being treated with a topical solution. The vet, whom had the delight of experiencing her own case of ringworm during pregnancy, stressed how contagious it can be. There was some discussion in the corgi health forum regarding ringworm, I am just wondering if anyone has had it spread from dog to dog, or dog to person in their house. I hate having to tell my little ones to limit petting… Continue

Wear your dog?

It's shedding time once again - just in case you needed to be reminded.LOL. I swear I could sit all day with every possible grooming tool I own and still not be ahead. It has been a very windy last few days here in Michigan, and every time the wind blows, the fur flies. Poor Minnie reminds me of Pig Pen from Charlie Brown - but instead of being surrounded by a cloud of filth, it's fur.

I try to make the process seem more fruitful, by reminding myself of all the bird nests Minnie will… Continue

Little Fergie was spayed yesterday! She doesn't seem upset about the loss of her ovaries - just the addition of the e-collar.:)

Dear Gina, Fergie and Minnie: Thank you for becoming friends. I have a strong connection to Michigan - my parents lived there for a time, I attended Interlochen and ate cherries until I couldn't, my garden has lots of Petosky stones in it and my brother still lives in Shelby Twp. We saw our first flyball exhibition at the Scottish games in Livonia and I love going to Mustang shows in Michigan. Anyway, I would be very interested what kind of a sweater would be great on corgis. Bear, Tasha and Linus would benefit from sweaters in the fall. Linus - well he is so fluffy that he would look like an exploded Twinkie. All the best, Nan
