About Me:
Hi! My name is Kricket, I'm 24 years old, married, and have a 3 year old son. My husband Danny and my son Ian are my world, I couldn't ask for a better family!! And to top it off, we now have our cute and lovable little Yumi! She sleeps curled up either above my head or at my feet, or draped across my tummy using me as her pillow. So cute!!!

About My Corgi(s):
Our little Yumi is a tri-colored Pembroke and is so cute! She is my very first corgi, though I've wanted one for many years. When we first brought her home she was very shy, but has really opened up these past few months! Now she's all over the place, bouncing and playing and making us laugh so much. She's the biggest momma's girl ever, if I even look like I'm getting up to leave the room she's already at the door and ready to go! She always has to be by my side, which is perfectly fine with me. She loves the rest of her family too, she's the only dog that my son lets lick all over him (he'll push any other dog away, he just doesn't like being licked on) and if I'm gone somewhere she can be found curled up near my husband's feet. Everyone that has met her has fallen in love with her, she's even won over a few family members that can't stand smaller type dogs! Her favorite toy is her Reese's Cups package shaped squeaky toy and her favorite place to sleep is belly up next to me ^^ Her ears still aren't standing up at 7 months old, although she has been getting them up there more often here lately.

Snow in Mississippi, AGAIN!!!

Posted on February 12, 2010 at 7:28pm 0 Comments

I can't believe it! When it snowed the first time, I was happy with the little half inch that we got. This time we got about 6 inches!! It was so great! I haven't seen snow like that since I was little, and even that was only once. Yumi was the first to go out and explore since she had to use the bathroom. She bolted out the door as always only to stop short at the grass, amazed at the winter wonderland spread before her! She looked at me for approval then dashed out into the snow, bouncing… Continue

Month 5 of Corgi goodness!

We got our little Yumi back in August. She was extremely shy and wasn't too sure about us or her new home. Now, 5 months later, you wouldn't know that she was the same dog! Yumi is so bouncy it is unreal, lol. Whether it's time to eat, time to potty, or I just get up to go to the next room she is right there bouncing and spinning and just being a happy pup! She's still a bit shy around people she doesn't know, but a tummy scratch fixes that and she's instantly your best friend. She is a MAJOR… Continue

It's snowing!!!

Posted on December 4, 2009 at 11:28pm 9 Comments

I live in Jackson, MS and we barely ever get ANY snow and when we do it's just a little bit. But tonight it's snowing wonderfully! We've got an inch or two already out there and it's still early on in the night so I'm hoping we'll get alot more before morning so we can play a lot tomorrow! I went ahead and took my son, Ian, out to play and Yumi tagged along as well. This is Ian's second snow, but I don't think he remembers the first one and this is Yumi's very first snow, so both of them were… Continue

What was that?!?

Yumi follows me EVERYWHERE I go, even if it's just to the next room. She hates being out of my sight and will whimper and whine unless she knows I'm gone in the car. This being said, Yumi followed me to the bathroom this morning. As I'm finishing up my morning business, I happen to glance down at her just as she lets out a tiny little fart! Now, I've never actually HEARD a dog fart before, it's usually an SBD (silent but deadly), lol, so this was already funny enough for me as the fart she let… Continue

Broken

Posted on November 11, 2009 at 4:40pm 1 Comment

So I'm sitting here on my computer playing around on Facebook when Ian starts yelling, "Momma, Momma!" I turn to look at him and ask, "What is it?" He points at a belly up, fast asleep Yumi then says, "Momma, Momma! Yumi broken!!" He then proceeds to pat her belly again (which usually wakes her up and is followed by her pouncing and licking all over him) but she is so comfy I guess that she is completely oblivious to his actions! It was sooooo funny, I wish I could've caught that one on camera… Continue

Welcome Kricket, Danny and Ian! This also is my first corgi and many of the small children on my street come over to visit with Tallulah and she is so gentle and loves the attention. The only complaint I get from them is that she licks them too much! Good Luck!! Eileen ^-^
