Presumably, there is only the slightest chance you've missed "Dogzilla" (Dav Pilkey) in the children's picture-book section? A Cardy climbs out of a volcano and threaten a mouse city. The dog monster is invincible until finally threatened with a bath by the mice fire dept. But then, the puppies arrive.....
