It's been a while since the last update on Trice. Well, he's been to a couple dog parks, one in Fullerton and the other in Los Alamitos. Out of the two, we favored Los Alamitos. Mainly because the grassy area was huge, clean and expansive. I think it's also noteworthy to point out that both large and small dogs were combined. I noticed Trice plays well with the small dogs (sniffing, following, etc) but when a large dog comes around he bares his teeth and barks. He's always been pretty… Continue

Just wanted to document here so this will be a quick blog. Trice made the Corgi calendar and he is Mr. October!! We are more than thrilled because it is our wedding anniversary month as well (two years ago!). Congrats to all participants/finalists. Corgis definitely photograph well. =)

On Saturday, hubby and I decided to "let go" of the leash at the grassy area near his old junior high. There were a few other people there: one perfecting his golf swing., a couple men flying RC planes and an owner training his golden retriever off leash. I thought these distractions would send Trice everywhich way, but surprisingly, he was very focused on us!

Since Trice got sick a few weeks ago, he has been cooped up indoors all day, only let outside to go #2, he goes #1 on pads we leave in certain areas of the house. The Vet said not to let to make sure he doesn't get sick again and until he gets the last set of his puppy shots and rabies shot. So you can imagine how much energy Trice has when we get home from work. The most activity he was getting was us training him. Two weeks in and Trice is adjusting well. He still has issues with mouthing and jumping on people (small kids are terrified of this) but I know in time training can curb that. He is peeing on the pads but I wish I can say the same for the poop. And walks are a hit or miss. Sometimes he’ll love to go on walks and other times he completely REFUSES. Trice is finally home with us! If you don’t know, we purchased Trice from the breeder in August but because we were in the process of moving to a condo this past weekend, we decided to just officially bring him home when we move. We did take him home for one weekend in August though (shh don’t tell our apartment complex – dogs not allowed)! So, the month-long wait since then was worth it. We picked up Trice from the breeder last night so he can spend the weekend with us at our apartment. We gated off the kitchen for him, complete with a crate, pee pads, toys and food/water at feeding times. The breeder says he is completely house trained at her house. She also has a large yard for him to play in. We live on the 2nd floor, so there is no yard for us.

A friend sent the cutest Facebook "Piece of Flair" called I-Corgi and it's of a sillhouette of a corgi listening to an iPod. This is very fitting of hubby and I because we are completely obsessed with all things corgi and all things Apple. =)

Trice will be 11 weeks tomorrow and the breeder says his ears still hasn't erected. His sister's ears erected at 3 weeks. I was reading that some people tape back the ears, which I will definitely NOT be doing. Guess Trice is a late bloomer (literally lol)! I just have to be patient.

We purchased Trice from a breeder 8/9/08 who lives an hour away (not bad!). My hubby instantly named him Trice for his tri-colored coat. Currently our apartment does not allow pets but we are moving into a condo end of next month that does allow. So...the breeder was kind enough to keep Trice until we move but we can come pick him up for the day, walk him, etc. This arrangement works out very well! He officially comes home with us on September 28. We are very excited. =)
