Bogart had a great weekend (yes, he told me so himself). Friday afternoon we played with other dogs at the dog park, Saturday morning we went for a run. In the afternoon Bogart had a play date in the back yard with Newton the Otter Hound and Oppenheimer the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV) - see below:
Today, Sunday, Bogart helped me put out 15 bales of pine straw in the natural area of the back yard, and then we went to The Canine Ranch in Canton where we THOUGHT we had a herding lesson... but they had emailed me the wrong time! We were in fact going to meet another Corgi to share a lesson. Unfortunately, by then the sheep were hot and tired and we will return for a lesson in the future (they were sorry they messed up the scheduling and offered us a free lesson). Since we were already there, I asked if there was any other activity we could try - and there was. We did a short Lure Coursing trial, something I had never heard of but AKC describes it as
The AKC offers this program that the dogs and owners love so well, to test the dogs basic coursing instinct or hunting by sight ability. The dogs chase an artificial lure, in an open field and are judged by two judges, on the dogs overall ability, speed, endurance, agility, and how well they follow the lure.
And yes, I did take some video footage - here it is:
So, it was a great weekend with beautiful weather, and fun was had by puppies and people every day!

Sounds like you guys had a fantastic weekend! Love the picture and the video. They use lure coursing for sight hounds, it plays into their prey drive and I have seen them starting to use it more for corgis..they love to run.
