We are all safe and sound here but I wanted to share a horrible story that was front page news on our local paper here recently. It involved a local farm family and their 2 St. Bernards one 3yrs and one 17 mos...They had let the dogs out and one did not come back! After searching for her one of their daughters came upon her lifeless in one of the nearby fields...she had their younger dog with her at the time and was making the dreaded cell phone call to let her parents in on the horrible news when she noticed the younger Bernard with a piece of meat in its mouth that had been laying near the expired dog. She immediately kicked it out of its mouth but it was already too late...within 40minutes and rushing the younger dog to the vet it had died in her arms. It almost instantly had started having seizures within coming into contact with the meat. In investigating the incident local officers have discovered the meat to be tainted with some poison(don't know yet what) intended to kill coyotes. The daughter and father who came in contact with the dogs also were treated for poisoning symptoms and are OK. We have come across deer carcasses on some of our walks and I am always shooing the dogs away from them anyway, but I will be more vigilant in our outings with this sort of evilness going on!!!!!! Just thought I should put the word out to keep all adventure loving Corgis safe!!!!!
