Capturing those Precious Moments!

With my first dog I had a baby book for her (don't laugh) because she grew up so fast. I was having a lot of fun and it looked weird but it was a blast. My older sister saw it after and said 1. I should take up scrapbooking and 2. I need to learn to do it correctly.

So Miranda has a baby book and after she was a year old she had a scrap book made of her adventures. Morgan is now at least a year old (being a shelter dog has its draw backs, I have no idea when he was born) and I have decided to make him a scapbook too.

The funny thing is I have very few pictures of him. Miranda has hundreds of pictures, but that has a lot to do with the fact that I got her the same month that I got my first camera. The excitement of the new puppy and the camera lead to many saved discs of pics. So there are hundreds (many blurry) of pictures. Morgan has only 5 of him as a young pup, and he grew so fast. He was a very sick puppy and I was busy with my career, my phiancee (then bf) and I ended up moving 2 times that year. In short I feel bad because I can barely remember the time when he was small. I spent most of it cleaning the carpet and so I may have blocked it out. So I am wondering how many of you have photo albums/scrapbooks made of your babies. If you are ever bored or sad it is a nice way to take up time.

I made Miranda's when I was layed off from work. The first album cost me 20$ to make and has magazine clippings, her pictures, and some cute stuff. The large scrapbook by comparison was over 100$ but my grandmother bought the materials as a gift for me, since Christmas was coming up.

I still have 2 pages left in Miranda's baby book that I never completed. One was meant for my father, and he hates pictures of himself, and the other was meant for me with the dog..... I take after my father. So those ones will be completed when I corner my father, and I loose 100,000 lbs.

I think that is all. I will try and take pics of Miranda's books when I can.

Bye.

Wow, I wish you lived near so you could help me. I am the classic case of loose photos all over. My daughter is good at this but she did not get it from me! PS We all want to lose about 10000lbs! LOL

I loooove scrapbooking. it's my hobby. I started a small book for my bunny which only has 3 to 4 pictures of her as a baby even though I had a ton more. I've been busy scrapbooking my travels, but I will be starting Colbie's very soon.

Couple of things I learned that might help you:
1) Your pictures don't have to be of your pet. Maybe Morgan has a favorite toy, you can take a picture of that now (if it's still intact).
2) Journaling is as important as the pictures. Write about how you felt when you got Morgan, or maybe how Miranda acted when Morgan first came home...if you can remember.
3) You don't have to use pictures OR journaling. Have you saved anything like vet bills (since you said he was very sick as a puppy)? You can feature a furry fabric and talk about the carpet stains you cleaned up. Though both of those may seem unexciting, those are the events that happened, and they will be fun to look back on years from now.

Good luck and have a lot of fun!

I would like to scrapbook but I get so overwhelmed w/ all the possibilities (not to mention the stuff costs out the wazoo), plus I now have an 8 week old daughter and therefore don't have much time. The other day I stumbled across the perfect solution: online scrapbooking! Of course, this is not a new thing. I'd just never thought to look for it before. There are a lot of "free" online scrapbooking services that actually cost money before you can actually do anything...but I DID find one that I like. It's called Mixbook. Here's a link to mine for my Corgi...

WOW that's ambitious! Pics in an album are about as good as I get. I also have tons on my computer!
