I'm so excited I can barely stand it. This is my first litter in four years and I have a LOT of shopping to do!
Clue is Ch. Pecan Valley A Blue Clue, but she's more often known as my best buddy and the leader of the dog household. We bred her via chilled semen (flown in from Arkansas) to a gorgeous black boy named Ch. Pecan Valley Draco. Draco's kids are not only lovely - his daughter won the 2008 Nationals Sweepstakes (a puppy competition held in conjunction with the CWCCA National Specialty) and another daughter of his is Friday (my puppy)'s mother - but sweet and willing and wonderful to live with.
I will be updating daily on my
personal blog, but wanted to let you all know too ;). We got the official confirmation today but Clue has known for a while - when we got home she dragged all the pillows up on to the couch and arranged them so she could support her aching back and stare at me accusingly. Our (neutered) rescue boy Bramble is SURE he's the one who did it, so he won't leave her side and has shoved all the other dogs off her couch. Normally dogs don't make this big a deal out of being pregnant, but Clue is very much the queen bee in our house and everybody knows this is something special.
This is NOT a puppies-for-sale ad - right now all the puppies are MINE, because we have planned and hoped and prayed for this litter for a long time, and I'll be letting them go very reluctantly and carefully. I just wanted to share my joy and hope you follow the amazing expanding dog for the next few weeks. She has a c-section scheduled for Jan. 22, so that's my do-or-die day to have everything ready and bring puppies home.
Hooray! And double hooray!
