ok a little more insight...Old Jax might not be corgi at all?! took him to the dog park today and was able to get a updated wright on him...30 lbs at 7 months lots of loose skin..front paws turn out a bit. heard him bark only 3 times but its was pretty loud and more of a BBAAARRROOOO bark. he liked to wrestle and chase and get chased by the other dogs ranging from great dane to yorkie...maybe he has bassett hound in him?? didnt see any herding insticts. I cant figure out that little tail thought. either way he is awesome, so glad I was able to give him a loving home!!
Who cares!!He's adorable!!As the "parent" of both boxers and corgis over My lifetimeI love both anyway!!The dark brindle can be in boxers too.The "reverse" brindle or almost black, has been a color trying to get approved by the AKC.Our neighbor adopted an adorable little guy 2 months ago.Black and tan with cute erect ears with a blue eye.The shelter guessed aussieand some kind of spitz.Well.the pup is getting huge.so they did the dna test.Ready??How's Chow,Malamute and small dose of Lab??lol They still love the boy and He's eatting like a small horse!!:)
If money isn't too tight, I'd do the DNA test. Research which companies are best. I'd say a pit-mix too, with that coloring and headshape. Several breeds carry the mutation for bobtails, and the short-legged mutation can pop up just about anywhere. That said, someone in England crossed corgis in with boxers to introduce the bobtail gene and hand them back to looking like pure boxers in just a few generations. So anything can be in there.
He is very cute and looks like he has a very happy personality! Good luck with him!
