Ok, so you guys and girls tell me if your Corgi has ever done this...
So as we all know, Cowboy is 16 years old. He wakes up in the morning and he's usually a pretty frisky little fellow first thing in the am. So for a while he would get out of his bed (all 4 blankets/comforters plus 2 actual dog beds!) and he would roll around on his back on the carpet...and then things changed!
Now he gets up and does a super big stretch and then he kneels (?) down on his front legs where his little chest touches the floor and he leaves his butt up in the air!!! Then he will get up roll around a bit, and then do the "yoga" pose two or three more times!! I swear it's the cutest thing ever!!!
My dad and husband seem to think that he's doing this because it's stretching out all of his muscles after sleep...not to mention the fact that it probably feels good to him.
...but my question is...does anyone else's Corgi do yoga??!! :)

Yes! Nala does it too! with the aroo included, and some mornings she also archs like a cat. Funny.

The yoga asana named "Downward Dog" is the same posture, presumably named after this canine stretch. There is also a cat pose.

Yoga always presents me with an insoluble quandary:
This is important to me, we've a tiny house with no yoga room, so I must learn to do yoga amid distractions, yet what do I do when, inevitably, a tennis ball is pushed against my foot, dropped into my lap, or shoved into some indelicate, un-ignorable place? I don't want to interrupt my concentration, but I don't want to ignore such irresistibly playful behavior or snub my dog.
I've tried flinging the ball down the hallway into the kitchen (it landed in dinner once), but this encourages them.
I've tried putting the ball up on a shelf... and ended up with a row of 6 of them there.
A Master would be able to throw the ball without interrupting meditation... perhaps with just a giggle inserted into the mantra...
Breathe deep, Grasshopper.
Repeat.

Sparty does something similar with a vigorous shake thrown in too. Izzy does not. He is ten whereas Izzy is two. I wonder if it is an age thing....

Yes, Ein does doggy yoga ever time he gets up from laying down, accompanied by a big yawn that sounds like a tiny one. I agree it's the cutest thing ever!
