It seems that in the state of Washington it is illegal to have dogs off-leashe on school property. Even if its 5am on a Labor Day Monday. I had gotten off work early and arrived home about 10 mins. to 5, the corgi's were giving me the "Don't even think your going to bed without walking us" stare so I thought it being 5am and Dark outside I'd just run them up to the school. Now this school share's a feild with another school and this is a big feild between the 2. So I'm a little obsessed with being able to see the corgi's and attached 3 lights to each. 1 on each side of the harness and 1 from their collars. I (to make sure they could see me) attached a light to my zipper and carrried a glow stick that flashes. We were lit up like x-mas tree's out there. I look over and in pulls a cop. I'm thinking what the heck? The cop flashes's his lights by my car so I hook the corgi's up and head over just to be informed of this rule..Then he leave's ruining our good time. I'm all for following the rules but give me a break. What was this cop wasting his time with me for? I drive a decent car was no where near the building's so it should have been very obvious I wasn't casing the joints...He must just hate blonde women walking cute little corgi's in the dark. And as for the LAW....I quess we know.

Maybe I just need to be more stealthy....wear all black with infa-red goggle's...I look like a nut job but they won't be able to see me.

Love the lights...mine where lighted collars at night! Bummer that they can't have a little fun but like Bev said it's "some" dog owners who make it rough for responsible one! Bummer for you also Bev:(

This is a by product of the irresponsible dog owners that do not pick up after their pets. They do not want the kids stepping in poo. I have a similar story about walking in the trails behind my house. My neighbor and I were walking 5 dogs (my 3 and her 2) and 4 of them were off leash. It was pretty early on a weekday so we did not expect to encounter anything but deer. I noticed a person on a bike coming towards us (it is a no bike trail) so I called my 2 and leashed them to avoid the chance of them getting hit. My neighbor's dogs do not come when called so she kept walking. It was the park enforcement officer! Dogs are supposed to be leashed on these trails. She got a $70 fine and he was being nice because it is supposed to be a 70 per dog. Since she had one leash with her he only fined one. So now I always walk there leashed. You never know when you will encounter the wrong person. Glad you did not get fined but I wish I could have seen the corgis running around lite up!
