I know it's not something I should get excited about but I am! I received a call today from a nearby humane society that has 2 Corgis being surrendered on Fri. These are retired breeding Corgis and are 4 years old soooo I am happy to be able to help one of them start their new life as a family pet! So in a couple months I hope to be posting a "home wanted" for which ever young lady I get!

I just got a male 5yrs old corgi that the people didnt want any more. I think it is great that you are taking one of them.

Well we probably don't want to go their about this person as we probably all have our thoughts on that! I don't know much else other than their are 2 and I get one. The person who called thinks they won't be potty trained either...but that's ok and she also questioned if this person was retiring these dogs due to some defect in the pups... I have a kennel and pen in my attached garage which my dogs sometimes use if I'm gone too...I've had 2 other dogs like this that had to be surrendered by law and they were great and learned fast...as soon as she's here I'll update this!

What kind of person abandons a 4 y.o. dog that they considered good enough to breed?

So exciting! Please let us know all about her, when you get a chance.

Oh, Jane, that's so wonderful! Topaz is a retired breeder, and she's the sweetest, albeit defiant at times, loveable girl! You'll just enjoy the heck out of them -- as retired breeders, everything will be so new from what they're used to, and they'll just be so appreciative of all the lovies they're going to get that they probably didn't get before (I don't know -- Topaz was a kennel breeder, so she hadn't had much handling.)

That is great! I hope she turns out to get along well with your group and you find a good home soon.

Hehe, how is it not something to be excited about? Thank you for offering your home and love to a dog that needs it. :)
