Where i live in West Texas Corgi's are not very common. I worry everytime someone seems too intrested in Dragster.. I'm an over protective mommy lol. Anyway at our local wal-mart there is a sign saying " Please return a little girls best friend" and it has a baby corgi. This makes me very sad. I already freak out when i leave him in the car just to run in the post office!!!

Yea i hardly ever leave Dragster in the car usually its to run in to an office or something. Even then my truck has keyless entry so i leave it running with the AC on. And in the hot west texas weather he has a fan and i freeze a jug of water. Hes very well taken care of :)

The only way I ever leave mine in the car is with the air going if hot and I take a 2nd set of keys for this...I would never leave mine in an unlocked car or yes take turns if you have someone along...I would never forgive myself if someone stole my dog/s but we don't have much of that around here!

Does it ever get cool enough in west Texas to leave them in the car?? I never leave mine unattended unless it is cold out and all the doors are locked. Even then I rarely do. When we travel my husband and I take turns going into the rest areas so we don't leave the dogs alone.

We've had problems around here as well. If we ever leave them in the car - its only for a few moments (run in/out laundromat ect.) but all those doors are locked and the cracks aren't big enough for a hand to get in the car.

I've seen people leave their dogs tied up outside of restraunts in DC and I just shake my head. If someone's locked up bike wheel gets stolen in a matter of minutes in the middle of the day. Who's gunna stop someone from untieing a dog and just running away with it?

It's not a matter of being an overprotective mommy - just using common sense :) It sounds like you're fine if you're taking the normal regulations. It's like being a helicopter mom - being over protective can be damaging.

A lot of dogs stolen are in the back yard a lot without supervision. Unlocked houses, unlocked car doors.. tied up outside. Left in the front yard without supervision for long periods of time. Its just like getting anything stolen really. Im amused someone even trying to personally.. what if the dog hates strangers? what if its a horribly trained dog? that thief is going to have a wonderful surprise.
