I lost my best friend this past Saturday. Cowboy was in really bad shape and it was time. I took him to the vet and held him close and he died in my arms. Words cannot even begin to express the pain and hurt and loss that I'm feeling. I can't even bring myself to take out his bed or food bowls or toys out of my house. I would give anything in the world to have my dog back. To everyone who has best friend out there hug them close and tell them how much you love them because they're not here for that long. I know that Cowboy is at Rainbow Bridge waiting for me, but I want so much to be selfish and have him back here with me. I'm not sure if I will ever want a little pooch again after going through this much pain. It hurts something awful. It feels like I'm truly missing a piece of my heart. I love you Cowboy.

I am sooo sorry for your loss. Cowboy was a lucky boy to have you in his life and it sounds like you were lucky to have him.

I am so sorry. Your post is so heartfelt, I have tears flowing (and at work too, oops). I can tell that you love Cowboy so much and he was a very lucky dog to be blessed with such love.

Oh Dear Sweet Mountaingrrrl I am so very sorry for your loss...I sit here crying for you so hoping that you can take comfort in knowing that we here at MyCorgi.com are with you at this time...I just took both of my babies to church last Monday for the annual Blessing of the animals. Because I want to to do anything and everything I can for my dear sweet babies as they are my heart and soul the reason for every breath I take. I'm so glad you believe in Rainbow Heaven. Please don't deprive yourself of another when the time is right! You obviously have a heart meant for the best kind of love in the world just give yourself time. I'm sure you are missing a piece of your heart! Take out those very special memories and hold them close to help you to heal. Remember we are here for you whenever you need us to share your memories & those special moments. I can't wait to go home today. I shall sit on the floor with Callie & Cooper and mourn with you of your lose of Cowboy. All the best Lori, Callie & Cooper

I am so sorry. There really are no words for what you are feeling right now. I lost my best friend ever, Dillon, over 3 years ago--and I still cry every time I think of him. Cowboy is waiting for you, I am sure of that, and be comforted by the fact that he is no longer hurting or in pain.
If you choose to get another dog, you will love them too, as each is special in their own little way. You may always have a special place in your heart for each one of them. You won't be replacing them, just the hole that they left. It does get easier with time, but never goes away.
Hugs--
Jen

I am truly sorry for your pain. I too have lost a corgi before and I was devastated. I cried for a very long time and my heart hurt so bad. A glance or sound or the mention of his name brought me pain. It left a hole in my heart and I eventually had to get Hayden to fill that hole. He has more than filled it. I thank God I made that desicion. I was not sure it was the best but my co-workers which had th same experience encouraged me to do it. I never regretted it.
