Today after getting back from class (I was gone maybe 3 hours) I noticed Callie was acting strange, she was trembling. I thought maybe she had to go potty so I let her outside. She did her business like normal, but just kept trembling. She then didn't even want to walk back to the building. So I picked her up and started walking her across the parking lot back to the building and she throws up. After that she started to perk up some, but within the next 30 minutes was back to shaking. She laid on the couch on her back and trembled, and could bearly keep her eyes open. She only would move her eyes to see where I was at, and would open them if I said her name. At this point she was really shaking, so I called the vet.

After spending an hour waiting to get into the vet they took some blood samples and found that she has a bacterial infection. They are not sure where the infection is, but she is on antibiotics now. Poor little girl.

(I believe she got the bug this weekend while we went to the Renaissance Festival. She had a blast and was a great dog, but sadly picked up a bug from it.)

After being on the antibiotics for a few days she seems to be feeling better, but I can tell that they meds are making her feel icky. I know when I take antibiotics I never feel the greatest. But she hasn't thrown up nor had any twitching. She actually wanted to play today, so that's a good sign.
(And I also have been giving her some yogurt, when I'm on antibiotics it makes me feel better, and she loves it)

Oh dear! I'm so sorry she isn't feeling good. One thing I learned when Sky is a pup, when they are on antibiotics put them on a probiotic, like no-fat plain yogurt, to keep some good bacteria in their system. Otherwise the antibiotics can actually make them more prone to an infection later.
