Hi, I'm Snoopy.

My real name is Cadet's Snooping in the Dark, out of Princess Furgy by CH Sleeping Cadet Willie. I was an AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I was born at Whimsy Corgi's or so I'm told. The story is that I stayed there till I was almost 1, then I was taken away to a different place.

I don't remember much about that place. The Lady tells about it, that I was a kennel stud for the next 5 years or so. The stories she's heard are that I was taken out of my kennel only to go to the girls (and even today I still LOVE the girls!) or to have my kennel cleaned. The Lady has found my kids & grand kids all over the place. She says I have a beautiful grand-daughter in Russia (Whimsy American Beauty)...she's out of my daughter Whimsy Chrystal Blue(at CBS Corgi's in TX)...but I never met them. You see, I was only a bloodline to my owner. I had no name, no collar, no nuthin.

Then, one day, when I was about 6, I was given away. The Lady only knows that I spent a few months at this new place. Then I got abandoned. I was found roaming around the streets of a little town in Wyoming. I was scared. Some nice folks took me to the Shelter. People kept talking to me. I didn't know what they meant. They put a rope around my neck & drug me places. They ran a machine over me. The Lady says that's how they tracked my owners down, but they didn't want me. They lived in another state. I wasn't trainable they said. I was super scared of everything. I cringed & wet myself when folks tried to pet me. I was sick too--my teeth were so hurtful. I stunk. My hair was falling out in clumps & I was very fat. I was only a dog. I wasn't worth the effort.

I stayed at the Shelter for a couple months. After the first month, in May, a little girl came to see me. She didn't mind my bad breath & because she was little she didn't scare me so bad. She took me for little walks & brought me treats. She & the Lady visited me every day while the Lady fought with the Shelter to make sure the little girl could have me.

The girl is Annie. I was her present for her 10th birthday. I came to live with her & the Lady on July 3, 2008. There was another Pembroke at their house-a fluffy named Winston. There was a big old RottnLab dog too, His name was Waldo. He was my good friend till last year, but that's another story.

Well...I got my first collar. And shots. And an operation! I got my teeth cleaned and I take a pill 2 times a day because they say my thyroid doesnt work. My new family was confused. They knew I was 6 but why was I so timid? Why didn't I know any commands? Why wouldn't I wear a collar. Why did I wet myself when the boys (there's 3 of them) try to pet me. They had a fella come over & speak to me in some weird languages to see if I'd been trained that way. I hadn't.

It was a bit overwhelming at Annie's house. I learned to walk on a leash right off. I got housebroken--the Lady gets terrible upset if I leave lakes on the kitchen floor! I got regular walks. I learned 'leave it, 'off' & 'no'. I got to sleep in Annies bed. I got lots of brushing, another teeth cleaning, I took a trip to Oklahoma in the truck with the family. I stayed at hotels, met the family, chased kites in the park, mooched french fries & had  my own yard. I learned to steal food from the cats & found out that I like snacking on bird seed.  Even though I was still timid, staying at the motel during the day & meeting new people all the time was fun. People like me!

to be continued....

I am so happy you now have a loving family.  How many other guys and girls are out there being used just like you were.  Wish I could save them all.  I have added a rescue Corgi to our household.  We have no idea about his background, he was only 18 months so he did not suffer as long as you Snoopy.  He is also a handsome guy like you.  I feel so blessed to have him and my Honey.  I am sure your family feels the same way about you.  Have a long and happy life with your new family.....

Sounds like some puppy mill jerks did their best to ruin a good dog.  There or may not be dogs in heaven, but these mill owners sure won't get there!
