Today Sidney is having his FHO surgery to relieve the pain from his luxated hip joint caused by hip dysplasia. It was a tearful goodbye this morning, but I know he is in excellent hands. They will call me later this afternoon, and I should be able to bring him home tomorrow.

Thank you all for your messages of encouragement, well wishes and prayers. It really means a lot to me :)

***UPDATE***

Just got a call from the vet. Sidney is already done and is starting to wake up. He said the procedure went well. He also said the hip was in really bad shape and Sidney will be able to move much more comfortably once he heals.

***UPDATE 2***

My husband talked to the overnight vet tech. She kept calling Sidney "too cute" and said he may have glitter on his nose because she'd be giving him extra love during her break. Sidney continues to work his magic, even when incapacitated :)

Good news!! It is amazing how fast they heal....the first couple of days will be hard, but once the initial swelling goes down, they really do adapt quickly. We are sending lots of hugs and kisses your way!
