Sidney's FHO surgery went well and he came home this afternoon. He was so happy to see my daughter and me! He's in his crate now and is resting comfortably.

He gets anti-inflammatory medication and painkillers for 2 weeks, then he goes back to have his sutures removed. He's mobile now, though he's not wanting to bear any weight on the hip. They said this is normal and he might try to stand on that foot within a few days. We're keeping him in a doggie recovery condo until his 2 weeks of R&R are up.

Here's my baby when we picked him up...doesn't he look pathetic? This little leg looks like a chicken leg, all shaved like that. The silver over his sutures is liquid bandage.

And in his crate at home. We're hoping the Pro-collar will keep him from the incision, since it seems to be much more comfortable than the e-collar. He's got a great appetite, so giving him his meds is not a problem. True corgi spirit!

oh, we wish Sidney a speedy recovery (Ethel thinks his pro-collar is kinda sexy, like an Elizabethan ruffle collar, in case he feels bad about it. Meanwhile, Bertie sends him manly good vibes). We're all sure he'll be up and about and his usual self in no time! Woofs and hugs!

Let the pampering begin! Good to hear that you are doing OK and that you are back home, Sidney! You do look a little sad, but I am sure you will get some extra treats. Keep smiling, and know that we are thinking about you in your stylin' condo. Get better soon!!

So glad he is home with you Geri. He looks so sad in the first picture. I bet he missed you so much. The pro collar looks WAY more comfy than the e-collar. I'm sure it will work to keep him from his incision. I'm so glad his appetite and spirit are doing well. Extra lovies from me and Kota!!!
