Show of paws! Who is allowed to eat table food? Yea i'm not. I mean occasionally yeah I get a drop or so. But its only on special occasions. Like my 1st birthday, ahhhh it was delicious. My mom and grandma made me a doggy cake. It was soooo good. They put all my favorite things on one plate. Ice cream, oranges, cake, ice cream, did I already say that? Oh and ice cream. Anyways...., my mom is starting to be more generous each day. I like it...a lot. Even though she gives me table food, she makes me run and play so I won't be fat AND happy, just happy. I love my mom for starting to be cool about table food. Oh and thanks for the bacon yesterday grandma..and the day before!

I agree, dog food is much healthier for them. My mom tries to give Charlee food all the time, but I tell my mom no. Every now and then she deserves something for not begging and being the best corgi.

Every now and then Sophie gets a piece of something from our plate. We do share carrots and fruit with her more freely, though. She never gets any fatty or salty meat (bacon, ham, sausage, etc.) but may get a tiny schnibble of baked chicken (not the skin) or lean steak. I hate it when dogs beg at the table and she doesn't. If she started to, that would be the end of all of it.

I am not a huge fan of too many table treats. My husband loves giving them out though, makes him a little too popular at meal times! Mine get green beans as well as their kibble at dinner because Izzy never seems full. Keeping the weight off is the best thing you can do to contribute to having your dog for many years. Also, with a young dog, it is better to have them rely more on their food than yours. But a little random treat of something not too fatty is OK I am sure. My weight would undoubtedly be much healthier if I practiced this for myself! :)

No, I do not give mine table food other than an occasional piece of meat or veggies. Mine do get a cooked egg, yogurt, fruit or 1/2 cheese slice once in a great while...but I don't want them to start thinking it as a regular food.Dog food is much healthier for them:)
