When we first brought Tegan home we took her out into the back yard to let her walk around and this was the first time she was introduced to Mortoise the Tortoise. Mortoise was asleep in the middle of the yard when Tegan went up to him and started smelling him. She had the fright of her life when the big "rock" she was smelling started moving! Mortoise took it in stride and started walking towards her to investigate. Ever since she has been very suspicious of Mortoise :)

Thanks everyone! Mortoise lives in our back yard year round. He has a house with a heater for the two weeks of the year it is cold in Arizona and spends a good amount of the summer as our personal lawn mower :) I will try and get some video of the Corgis and Mortoise. Hopefully it won't be just a video of Tegan's high pitched barking!

OMG! That's a big enough tortoise to make me bark, too -- LOL! Now I'm ready for a video of their interaction. Cute, cute, cute!

Well so far aside from Beauregard and cars, the tortoise is the only other thing she likes to bark at :) I doubt she would ever get close enough to climb him, but that would be funny! Mortoise is an African Spurred Tortoise and believe it of not, he is only 9 years old! Mortoise does like to play tricks on Beauregard...he comes up behind Beau and takes nips at the fur on Beau's behind :) Beau is not a huge fan of this!

I wonder if she will ever try to sit on the rock? lol. I bet he makes for some great corgi entertaiment.

Cute pics! I can see where this would be hard as this big (beautiful) slow moving thing moves but probably doesn't play like Tegan thinks she should!
