It's been 1 week & I still can't look at his picture without tearing up. His ashes were delivered in a beautiful walnut box yesterday. So fitting for him. The vets sent sympathy cards & I crumbled when I read their thoughts on what a special dog he was & saw the laminated paw print they included. Gwenny has been so quiet & Charlie just looks worried all the time. I am so grateful for the kind words & sentiments from all of you. I do believe he is just over the bridge & we will see his handsome loyal face again.

I am with Jane, this will remain close to your emotional surface for a long time. After awhile you will dwell more on the fun and silly memories which makes it easier but the special ones (aren't they all) never really leave your thoughts.

You're welcome. Every time you read of another dog dying it will bring back those memories...no matter how long ago or at least it does for me...but it will get easier! I think it is just as hard on our 4 legged friend even though they don't know what has happened other than their friend is no longer there!Take Care!
