Well today I was out getting my garden fence down (which by the way did not keep out the rabbits) and had 5 dogs out with me. Awhile later I realized that Sage and Jackson were not around. So I called and called. About 5 min later I looked down the driveway and here was this little animal running full speed, tongue almost to the ground not slowing down till she plopped her butt on the ground next to me! What they did, I think was that Jackson went to our other place about a mile from where I was and Sage followed...hmm....my dogs know better...Sage! We drove over there and sure enough there was Jackson! Our gravel roads are fairly safe but this is harvest time and luckily there were no semis as they fly by! I guess we are all lucky today! Sage did get a treat for her "come" and she is one pooped pup tonight!

Wow that is enough to make your heart jump. So happy to hear that both your babies are safe and sound by your side again.

Good girl Sage! Mine are never off-leash in our unfenced yard, because we are across the street from the park and if they saw one of their many friends (human or dog) they would just take off.

How scary! Our dogs know to and prefer to stay in the yard but there's always that one day! Years ago Rudy and old Megan took Lily for a walk and we (and the neighbors) couldn't find them for two hours. Then it started to rain and, low and behold, Rudy came back first, then appeared Megan leading Lily through the yards. They never strayed again but I take no chances. What a blessing the puppies are safe and sound!
