YAY! a puppy in your home! Hooray! k...now dont get mad cuz he finds ALL the things to chew on that your forgot in your puppyproofing...for the next 2 years... hee hee
The FL game will be a blow out, but I love watching Tebow. We're for Stanford, & REALLY enjoyed their game against USC. Had some hope for Toby Gerhart to win the Heisman until the Cal game. So we'll see how they fare with Notre Dame. And then a Laker game. Quite a day for corgi lovers and sport fans!
I've posted stuff about hiking with corgis elsewhere here.
I suggest getting dog hiking books specific to the southeast. There must be several. You have snakes and other critters down there that aren't an issue for us (we do have Pacific Timber Rattlers).
No big challenges until the dog is 1 year old -- you want the bones solid first. The breeder was firm with me about that. Then, regular exercise, just long walks, and don't let them get overweight. Then they'll walk as far as you're willing to. If you've access to an off-leash area, soccer ball or water polo ball; they'll chase it forever.
I would not put a backpack on a corgi.
Although our two are pretty good at rock scrambling now, most of what we do is simply trail hiking.
They usually stay quite close and I keep a quick-draw leash handy, held with rubber band.
Really Reliable Recall. You want them to pass the Porcupine Test.
For the photos, just learn to hold the camera in one hand, dog treat in the other. :-)
Hi Buddy & Wynstan
thank you for the welcomming comment! SA is ... well, how can I sum this up in a sentence....
I love where I live, near Johannesburg. Its been quite hot today, but looks like there'll be rain soon.Delete Comment
Tarja, the old singer actually won an award as Finland's best singer once, and she sings opera, so it probably wont be the same, but sure hope Anette can get a little better (even though she is Swedish ;-) )
You could check out Apocalyptica, of cause I personally love H.I.M. and The Rasmus, and then there is the folk metal band Moonsorrow...
