One Hot Puppy!

Okay, You can tell by the picture that Lilly is really fuzzy. Ever since she came home at 6 weeks, she is 4 and half months now, she sleeps on either the air conditioner vent, or an ice pack. At nite she goes in a little pop up kennel on my bed, on a ice pack. I have several foam flat bricks, I put them into a pillow case, and she loves to sleep on them. I have checked with my vet more than once, and she has room to move completely away from the ice pack so there is no risk of frost bite or anything like that. So, anyone else have a Hot Puppy??????????

Comment by Judith Andre on September 10, 2010 at 1:01am: They make water beds for dogs..not any good if your dog is a chewer. I tried one for my last Corgi as he always slept on the bathroom tile, but he wouldn't use it. If anyone wants it they can have it for the postage. I live in NE.

Comment by Bev Levy on September 7, 2010 at 7:30am: Sparty used to sleep on the air conditioning vents when he was a pup. He is also a tri colored and even at 12 he never lays in the sun. Lily probably will enjoy winter and I can identify with that!

Comment by Tauna and Kota on September 7, 2010 at 3:30am: Kota is always hot. He rarely sleeps in my bed anymore as he gets too hot. He likes to lay under the air conditioner and LOVE ice cubes. On very hot days, I too give Kota a couple "baths" from a hose to cool him off. He doesn't stay wet very long. He is 2 years old. I have not tried an ice pack or anything like that.

Comment by Potus on September 7, 2010 at 3:14am: Its currently winter here, so Potus is not having to deal with the heat, but he is definitely a hot puppy!! We spend summer making sure he's comfortable and, on extremely hot days, he has multiple cool baths to help him cool down. We can't let him sleep on ice packs or anything like that as he loves to chew EVERYTHING. But he has a nice raised bed for air circulation to help him keep cool.
