First-year students at Texas A&M's Vet school were attending their first anatomy class, with a real dead cow. They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a white sheet. The professor started the class by telling them, "In Veterinary Medicine it is necessary to have two important qualities as a doctor: The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the animal body."

For an example, the professor pulled back the sheet, stuck his finger in the butt of the dead cow, withdrew it and stuck his finger in his mouth. "go ahead and do the same thing," he told his students. The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes, but eventually took turns sticking a finger in the butt of the dead cow and sucking on it.

When everyone finished, the professor looked at them and said, "the second most important quality is observation. I stuck in my middle finger and sucked on my index finger. Now learn to pay attention. life's tough, but it's even tougher if you're stupid.."

Oh yuck!!!!! I have an Uncle who's a vet so I know how hard they have to work to get to be one...not just 1 anatomy but many many animal anatomies/disceases etc.
I was horrified reading that the professor stuck his finger in his mouth after it was it the cows butt.  Totally relieved and laughing at what he told his students, I hope they were that smart, cause that would be pretty disgusting for anyone to do.
HAHA!!  That's a GREAT story!!
That is just so wrong on so many levels
lol! I guess when you work in the vet profession you spend your day covered in feces, urine, blood, and vomit, so sticking your finger in a cow's butt doesn't seem so bad! Lol.
So true. Anal glands in the hair, placentas on your shoes, chunks of green/yellow tartar down your scrubs... yeah, things like that just come with the job. LOL
My dad's a vet and when I was young I would go with him on farm calls.... saw some pretty disgusting things,  I quit going when he told me he needed me to stick my hands in a pig and pull out the babies, he took my brother instead.  Guess that's when I knew I wasn't cut out to be a vet!
EEWW!!!
Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh!
