I am located in the Dallas Texas area and want to adopt a corgi. I have experience with corgis and have a corgi-friendly house / yard / environment. I've been searching the local rescues since August, but haven't found my little new companion just yet. I recently lost my little companion to liver cancer and a have a big old empty heart just waiting to give a little corgi a whole lot of love.

If anyone knows of someone in the North Texas area who is wanting to re-home their corgi, please let me know.

Thanks

Sandy

Did you see Taylor? She's at Dallas Animal Sevices, I think they said 5 years old and very gentle! She's a cute Corgi mix. Don't know if that's too old!  214-670-8246
I did see her, and I'm open to certain mixes - Yewbee was corgi-chow. But I'd prefer a brown & white or tricolor full Pembroke corgi. But I'll follow up anything you send to me - thanks so much for helping !
I just googled Corgis for adoptions in Dallas TX and found several...many were mixes but very cute...I did enter "young".

This guy is 1-2 and looks like a tri:)

Breed: Corgi Mix Color: Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White) Age: Adult
Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less Sex: Male
Chaps's Story...

Chaps is a cute boy that is only about 1-2 years old. Stop by the shelter and see if Chaps would be a good addition to your family! All of our adoptable dogs have received a monthly treatment for fleas and ticks.

If you contact the shelter about him, please refer to case number 11-3168P as they have over 100 pets in their care and don't know them by name.

Thank you for looking to the shelter for your next new pet. Adoption saves lives!

There is a lady who hosts "Corgi Celebration" every year in Buda, TX (very close to Austin).  Somebody who goes every year told me that there are always Corgis to adopt there!  just google Corgi Celebration and you should be able to find the site.  It's run by a lady who breeds and does adoptions.  All the money from the Corgi Celebration festival goes to two Corgi rescues in TX.. one in Dallas and one in Houston.  Good luck on your search!   (oh by the way, the Corgi Celebration festival is on Halloween weekend, I think)
I'll look into it - thanks !
One other thing you could try is contacting some breeders in your area. Sometimes they have adult dogs they are looking to retire from the show ring or older puppies that just didn't turn out the way they had hoped.
Great idea - thanks !
Check the blog post by Jessica and Johann about Ceasar in Houston that was born with no front paws--he needs a home.  Hope you find your forever friend.
I've seen Caesar online, and it breaks my heart that he has no front paws. But Yewbee's illness wiped me out emotionally and I can't deal with another dog's permanent disability right now. Thanks.
Ahhh too bad...he could use someone like you to love him:)
