Age: 3 to 5 years old
Sex: Male/neutered
Breed: Corgi
Rico is a male Corgi, between 3-5 years old. He weighs 26 lbs. His ears were brutally hacked off by a puppy mill breeder, but he is still adorable. He will lose his foster home soon and urgently needs a foster or permanent home prior to October 15. He is a bit shy and he gets along well with people and other dogs. He's had a "ruff" life and deserves better.

I will be flying red eye to BC tonight, gonna be there for a week. if anyone is interested in adopting RICO, book him a flight, message me directly, I will personally escort him to Vancouver Airport. If you are in Ontario or Quebec, I can bring him back to Toronto and possibly get him to you before 29th OCT.
Ocean Dog Rescue is a great organization, they've rescued over 50+ corgis in extreme condition. (warning: Graphic) we supported them with our calendars last year.
Oh, that makes me so sad! Poor guy. I just can't imagine myself with 3 at this point; it would upset my existing balance with my current "pack" which also includes a very bossy kitty cat. Why would some idiot crop a Corgi's ears, and in that manner? I just can't imagine what makes some people tick.
Thanks for putting out the word, Sam.
Do we know if he gets along with children and cats?
It breaks my heart thinking of the horrors this little boy has gone through, his poor ears!! He needs a forever home to lavish him in love.
Ok folks, here's the latest:
I just called Renee of "Ocean Dog Rescue", had a nice chat this morning. She wants to thank our members for the donation. There's 5 applications for RICO currently, a couple with an existing corgi "may" adopt him, the rescue just did a house inspection last night. RICO have been living with his foster parents for 1.5 years, his wounds are healed and is ready to travel. RICO is scheduled to fly from Taiwan to Vancouver on Monday, Renee will keep me inform on the latest.
RICO is the last of the 50 corgis saved from the 500 dogs puppymill in 09 (link above),
Rico arrived at the airport last night and his foster/possibly adoptive family came to meet him. They have a corgi already and a wonderful huge fenced yard for Rico and his new buddy (Georgie) to play in. It was clear what a smart little guy Rico is when it came time to say goodbye to the volunteer passenger who brought him over from Taiwan.. although they had only met at the airport, Rico couldn't leave without saying goodbye and basically relaxed and rolled over for a belly rub as soon as the passenger crouched down to say goodbye.
OCean Dog Rescue is so thankful that with the calendar donations we were able to help dogs like Rico.. so thanks!!! And Rico thanks you too!!
Here are a few pics of him last night..
Oh he looks so happy I hope he has the wonderful life that they all deserve.
