Tootsie is gone

My baby was staying with a dog sitter while I left on vacation last Thursday...she got away from the sitter and was hit and killed by a school bus on Friday. I am so devastated - she was only two years old...I can't imagine life without her...

Patricia,

I lost mine suddenly to liver cancer 3 months ago, and I know you are grieving beyond words. Back then I couldn't imagine life without my little Yewbee, either. But I can tell you today, it is possible. The gnawing ache and void in your heart will eventually start to subside, but don't be afraid to cry hard and long.

Just try to remember that Almighty God, the Creator of all life, loves you and little Tootsie, and that she is alive right now in His presence. He offers His peace and Presence to you in your grief. I hope you reach out to Him - He's already reaching out to you.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It is so unimaginable to me to be without Tootsie...I miss her so much...she was the sweetest dog I ever had the pleasure of knowing, such a kind loving spirit...

I am so sorry to hear about your terrible loss Patricia...what a sweet name, Tootsie, my she be palying with the rest of our beloved corgis at the Bridge. What an awful way to come home from vacation. I will pray for you that God heals your heart and sends you another precious corgi your way, cause there is nothing like them. I lost a Brittany baby to being murdered (long story) and over 10 years later I still miss her. My first corgi Emma was medicine to help me get over Jordan, now my rescues Jack and Kate are medicine to get me over losing my Emma this past August....I send you hugs and prayers and corgi licks and kisses from my two!

It makes me so sad to hear this news. I am so very sorry! I think about what it would be like to hear the devastating news, and it just breaks my heart.
