Ramji

Hello...

So Ramji here used to eat all of his food within seconds! but lately he's been finicky. I have to persuade him to eat, he will eat it off of my hand and after some encouragement he will eventually eat his meal but WHY? all of the sudden?!

He is teething...but he's on puppy food and I have never really seen him actually chew his kibbles anyways.

He gets treats once or twice a day. He's fed twice a day (Breakfast and Dinner).

His health is fine, nothing out of the ordinary.

Wondering if maybe he is tired of his food. He is currently on Royal Canin (2nd bag). When I first got him, I fed him Purina Pro Plan...he did eat that well too but seemed like he was getting tired of it towards the end of the bag which is when I switched him to Royal Canin. He ate his first bag just fine and he couldnt wait until I filled his bowl to eat it.

I dont want to change his food so often. Any clues to this odd behavior??

Teething can put them off feeding. Try moistening the food so it is easier to chew. As long as he is still drinking he should be fine.

Changing food can teach him to be a fussy eater. Moisten his food a bit with water only in case he is teething. Don't add goodies to get him to eat. Put the food down for 15 min or so then take it up and wait until the next regularly scheduled feeding time. He won't starve himself!!!! He'll learn to eat while the food is there or be hungry until the next meal. Train him, don't let him train you!! Limit treats between meals.

Puppies sometimes slow down eating if they are not going through a growth spurt. As already said, if he's drinking, playing, and pooping as usual, he's most likely OK.

Thanks guys! Will try moistening his food!
