well it has sure been a crazy week I started CNA classes and on top of it Valentine all of a sudden got so sick we had to take her to the vet yesterday after spending 3 hours there we found out that when we adopted her they failed to tell us that she has a disc in her neck that has collapsed :( she was in so much pain and crying my husband and I felt horrible for her. woulda been nice to have been informed so we could avoid any further trauma to her :( - makes me mad we adopted her from the vet as her former owner wanted her put to sleep , and we are now assuming it was because of her neck and they didnt want to pay for her to have any treatment - makes me so mad, I usually do not vent on here but I just needed someone to talk to ha ha or lots of someones, anyways 3 medications later and another xray not tomention the cost of it all, which is the least of my worries I just dont want her in pain anymore :( - I just hope she gets better soon - wish us luck :)

So sorry to hear that!  Poor Valentine, and shame on the vet for not informing you of the issue.

How is Valentine doing with her neck now?  How awful the vet couldn't inform you of her neck, I would of been mad too!

hi Natalie she is doing wonderful thanks for asking :) her normal happy self again

I agree that the vet is majorly at fault here. If the knew ahead of time she had neck issues they really needed to disclose that information before you adopted her! Maybe the vet didn't know and the owners lied about why they wanted to euthanize. We do see this happen a lot with animals that get signed over to us. I would call and ask the vet if they knew of this issue ahead of time, if they did I would totally make them refund the cost of the exam, x-rays, meds or whatever you can get because it is not ok to adopt out a sick/injured dog without telling the new owners first.

We are so sorry that you are having to deal with this. I am glad that Valentine isn't in pain today. Good luck finding a suitable treatment for her.

Best thoughts heading Valentine's way.  It pains me to think about how many people think the easy way out of hurt animals is just putting them down.  I understand the financial issues that come with a sick pup and not wanting them to be in pain.  But to think that changes in prognosis from the need to put an animal down to only needing to take 3 medications..... I am so glad she is feeling better!
