I was at the vets yesterday and the tech answered the phone and was talking about tape worms. I learned something new. Humans can't get tapeworms from animals because animals have to ingest the host to get them. The tapeworms humans do get is a different worm than what animals get. My dogs get monthly wormers for about 7 months of the year but my cats  sometimes get tapeworm(yuck). Just thought it was an interesting fact to pass on. Makes me feel a bit better when I see those ugly things!

But people CAN pick up hookworms by walking in areas where dogs have been, which is why they are often not allowed on beaches. Yuck!

Thanks for the info!
