My little guy constantly eats his bedding.  We resorted to old beach towels, but he tears those up too.  Then I gave him a heavy rug, thinking that would work, but he's eating that too!

For the  most part, he's still in a penned area because he already ate the corner of my new wool area rug... :(     For his safety and the safety of our furniture, he is mostly confined to his pen.   He gets lots of walks and can run around inside, but only if we're able to watch his every move.

But back to the bedding... any suggestions for anything that is Corgi proof?  Otherwise, he gets to lay on our tile floors and I can't imagine it's very comfortable.

Thanks!

Until he is past the chewing stage, stick to old towels, rugs, or the bare tile. My Rosie actually prefers the cool tile to almost anything else. She will move a comfy bed out of the way to sleep on the bare floor.

I would stick to bare floor for now. When you leave put some spray cheese in a Kong so he can sooth himself by licking. Our Doberman did this and it became a habit that caused three very expensive stomach obstruction surgeries before I got her. She is 10 now and I still do not leave her with bedding. Once it becomes a habit it is hard to break. The Kong really helps give them something to look forward to when you leave and is very calming.

No bedding of any kind, until he's well past this stage.  Bare floor and plenty of appropriate, safe  chew toys, so he can develop a preference for those things you want him to chew on, and unlearn his unsavory habit for fabric or carpeting.  You are wise to only allow him freedom under supervision and give him lots of walks.  Tile floors will not harm him, chewing inappropriate things can harm him and your pocket book as well..... He will outgrow this stage, if properly managed, but stick with it well past the time you think he's "safe"..

We went through 3 beds, a bath mat, a bath rug, and a slew of towels until he was finally old enough to stop chewing EVERYTHING. Now he has 2 nice beds and they'll probably last him forever.

Yes we had this problem too until we got this bed: http://kuranda.com/dog-beds
We paid about $100 for it but it's totally worth it. She loves it and sleeps on it all the time. It's the only bed that's lasted her more than a week. Also, to clean it just vacuum it and/or hose it down outside. I highly recommend it!

I've been reading the responses to this thread too, as my Corgi loves to chew on everything (especially her sleeping blankets) too! We use bathroom towels for her and she loves pulling them out of her playpen and gnawing on the ends until they're all frayed. When she was a puppy, she chewed her way into our carpet and bore 2 holes in our living room carpet. Since then, we've lined the bottom of her playpen with a rug to prevent her from doing damage to the underlying carpet. But now my Corgi's almost 14 months, and she still loves to chew on everything...Any idea of when Corgis will outgrow this "stage"?
