I think it important to have some empathy for Mr. Latham.  The life of someone who'd shoot a puppy may not have been an easy one, and vengeful hatred is a weapon that strikes both the target and the shooter.

I am not as high-minded as this sounds, I fear.

I would have preferred this to play out in the court systems.  It may have been a game changer for protection of our beloved pets.  Maybe.

I am just glad this whole affair is over.  A higher justice will be looking at this....
