Having always had Shelties (and still do) I wasn't prepared for my rescue Corgi's sleeping choices.
Shelties always sleep on my bed but Joey prefers to sleep in an isolated, lonely place on the floor, in another room. Sometimes he hops up on a slick leather or vinyl piece of furniture (I have a booster step for him) but he seems to consciously avoid blankets, pet beds, towels--anything cuddly.
While I feel "sorry" for him I wonder if this is Corgi behavior? BTW, I've attached a very cute photo I found on the internet that seems to illustrate my point!!

Gibson will sleep just about anywhere. When it's hot he wants nothing to do w/us and will sleep on the hardwood, sprawled out on his back.. when it's a little cooler he'll want to be closer to us and snuggle.. In between he'll sleep on carpet or on the little pillow that I put down on the floor (aka, his ghetto dog bed). And he'll sleep in the bed or his crate at night, but he doesn't really get a choice about those :)
Gibson is TOOOOO CUTE.............he gets a Free Pass from me to sleep anywhere he wants!
Thx for the info.

Lola has slept in the bed with me "sharing" the pillow since the day we got her. When its really hot though she will sleep on the hardwood in the bedroom or on the tile in the bathroom.
Charlie prefers a cool surface, like bathroom, hardwood, tile. etc. Even though he does cuddle more than he used to, he gets hot and will retreat to a quiet, cool place to sleep. We now have 11 month old sheltie pup and he is not as much of a cuddlebug as our 1st sheltie was, but still is more of a velcro dog than Charlie. Charlie's favorite place to sleep is under the bed.
Didi hates sleeping on the bed for some reason... and shes rarely sleeps on the pet bed. She will, however, drag towels/dirty laundry into a pile. She seems to like beds she makes herself most.
Favorite place to sleep? Recliner in the sitting room, from which she can keep an eye on both doors.
I think where they sleep might have to do with where they slept when they were very young puppies? Hmmm
Le-Le will sleep with us so long as she does not get too hot. Especially in hotel rooms. But at home when she gets hot she sleeps in a corner of the room on the hardwood. Sometimes she sleeps in her bed by my side of the bed.My parents Pem sleep in a closet under my Dad's pants. I think corgis like tight corner or under things and also they seem to move around a lot.
My little one usually likes to sleep on the floor by himself. He uses his pet bed as a toy box too. He usually hops in bed for morning cuddling though.
