hello! I am just trying to get some ideas on what kind of treats you feed your corgi, to maybe give maggie some variety. If you own a puppy, i'd be especially curious as maggie is 6 months old, still a puppy.
On a normal basis, this is maggie's diet. She is in great health. She weighs 19 pounds, but is very lean! I think she is going to be a big female corgi. I was almost worried she wasn't eating enough because she looked a bit too lean to me, but apparently she is great!
This is on a normal basis, this week she is refined much throughout the day due to her spay, she has a larger incison and needs to rest it alot. So she has had double the rawhides/icecubes/kong fix inorder to keep her mouth occupied.
She eats 3/4 cup of Natural balance venison and rice in the am, 1/2 cup in the pm. She gets maybe 5-10 small puppy mother hubbard treats broken up or Zukes soft treats. For trainings and going into her crate at night. She usually gets 1 rawhide to chew on a day, and a dental bone twice a week. Once in a while she will get a 1/4 of a stale bagel. In the summer I am sure she will be replacing alot of these with icecubes in the summer. I bought her Zukes cranberry dental treats, but i think I am going to return them. I gave her one last night and this Am she had diarrea.
I know alot of you guys give your dogs veggies. I do not want to feed maggie any thing remotely related to table food. she has no interest in us when we eat bfast, dinner, or lunch or anything. I want to keep it this way. Do you know of any other natural/veggie based treats? She loves her food, dont want to change that.
maggie is not a kong girl. I have been filling it with pb this week again to keep her mouth occupied in her crate since she cannot run around the house. But she just licks it just enough and then stops, so its kind of pointless. lol When she gets her stitches out, I am ditching the kongs. i think I will clean them and donate them to the shelter.
again, just curious for some more ideas!
