Every morning Max does this weird thing. He looks up at my hubby or I like he needs something then runs to the bedroom door and back again.I've tried everything I can think of. We keep that door closed most of the time so I left it open to see what he wanted. He didn't even go in the room! Does anyone else have this problem?

There are 3 doors in my house that can trigger this behavior:

1. Patio door - they run to me, stand on two legs, then run to the door, that means potty time.
2. Front door - someone's at the door, or an animal have taken a dump in our front yard.
3. Laundry door - time to go for a walk

So my guess is there's some kind of activity that links to your bedroom door. Good luck!
I would just guess that he's ready for his first morning potty time...or he's up and ready to play and he's ready for you all to get up and play too!
He has already been out at least 2 or three times by the time this starts. He has had or is still having play time, either with one of us or Molly. He acts like he wants something from the bedroom.
Our lil guy does that with our closet door and the chair. Closet door....the vacuum is there and he HATES the vacuum. the chair...... he is ready to play and wants you to get on the floor to play with him! goodluck. Dont you wish they could talk :)
Does he want to be chased? That sounds like some of the play we have with Twinkie.
Is it possible that you have inadvertently trained him that if he runs to the bedroom door, you pay attention to him? A bored dog is highly motivated to learn (I don't mean "bored" as a criticism of his activity level; our Corgi is bored just about every minute he's not either sleeping or being walked or trained or played with). A highly motivated Corgi can learn a new behavior after 1 to 2 repetitions.

If his running to the door periodically triggers behavior in you that he finds interesting, he could just be doing it for kicks.

Does he still run to the door area if the door is opened? My cat will wake us up in the middle of the night if our bedroom closet is closed. Every night for the past two years, we have slept with the darned closet door ajar. Mind you, the cat rarely goes IN the closet, but I think she feels she might have to, someday. Cats in general hate closed doors, as they like to have freedom of movement within their own environment. Maybe your dog just doesn't like closed doors?

Just trying to think of some possibilities. LOL I'm sure in Max's little doggie brain, the whole thing makes infinite sense.
