Goodness, I didn't realize there were so many people out there that felt the same way as I do! I've seen more photos of my grandkids on facebook in the past couple of months than I've seen in the last 5 or 6 YEARS! And my kids are almost jealous of my corgis, but they have all moved away to other states because of work or spouse's work, etc. and my corgis aren't going to leave me like that.

They say that I can't talk with the corgis, but they don't know corgis very well, do they?!!!

P.S. The reason I got on facebook was to see photos of my grandkids regularly!

Well, I have to weigh in! I always tell my kids that the dogs are great because they don't grow up and leave me! That is important because my daughter moved to Texas last year and my son is moving to Prague next year. I am never lonely with the dogs around!

Plus, your dogs love you unconditionally and are never embarassed to be seen with you! Can we say that for our kids? Hahahaha. On the other hand, my kids don't shed uncontrollably or ask to go out in the middle of the night. Wait... I'll have to think about that. :)

I am reminded of this email I received from a friend:

Remember: Dogs are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and last........

11. IF THEY GET PREGNANT, YOU CAN SELL THEIR CHILDREN

Marty, that is sooo true! I sometimes don't restrain myself from responding (at least with teh two kids who are still under 18) but I try not to do it with a scolding tome. Terrible two's are way better than the teenage -> young adult years! O-o

PS... no wonder so many of us love our dogs. They're so much easier to raise, and live with, than teens or young adult children! :)

Geri and Sidney,

My twenty something son wouldn't get on Facebook for a long time because he was afraid I'd read his page. He finally sucked it up and did it. I restrain myself from saying anything about the stupid things I read there. It's hard to be a parent when your kids grow up! Good luck!

Is the Solid Gold a puppy formula? While Solid Gold is an excellent food, it
may be too rich for her right now.

Anyone here's Corgi's have gas issues? Gracie is about almost 5 months old. We gradually changed her food to Solid Gold dog food about 2 weeks ago. The gas is about to kill us! LOL! Any suggestions on what to do?
