Oh so sorry!! Try June Hill on this site. She recently posted photos of her corgi after surgery. She should have some up to date info. We were fortunate that Sparty did not have a total tear and we decided not to do the procedure. After much discussion with our vet we decided to take our chances with healing because Sparty is a poor candidate for surgery. He is pretty anxious and has good reason to be a real pill at the vets because of other problems he has had. It has worked well for us. My neighbors cocker tore hers around the same time, had the surgery and is also fine. Good luck with this decision. I did read up on it and found that it is the most common injury resulting in surgery for dogs. This should mean that your doctor will be well versed in the procedure. We live near a top Vet school (MSU) and my neighbor took her dog to rehab there after.
How was the appointment?
We have the appointment for consult on Monday Aug 10. In the meantime from some of the reading Dawn is doing we have learned that it's important to confine her as much as possible and many use the indoor pens. So, we've ordered one and it will arrive tomorrow. You know, as much as you think you can watch them and keep them quiet you just can't predict the sudden noise or knock at the door or whatever that can make them just jump up and take off across the floor. Dawn had to do a little convicing, but I finally agreed with that logic. And we really want to be sure we keep her as imobile as much as we possibly can. Also from all Dawn read about the pen is that they are confined, but they are still in the room with you and not feeling isolated.
Good luck! It is really hard to keep them still.
