This morning Enzo woke up fine and went normal on his first walk. In the mornings he is usually bouncing off the walls when we get back. I got his breakfast ready and nothing he was just laying there. He had no interest in his food. About 2 hours later my fiance walked him before taking him to work with him. Enzo had diarrhea. We haven't changed anything in his diet nothing out of the ordinary unless he managed to find something in the micro second we didn't notice. All day he was lethargic and not interested in food and very little water. Once his dinner time came he ate, drank and was running around like nothing. We thought we had saved a trip to the vet. But Enzo has not pooped yet after eating dinner and running around. It's been about 4 hours he usually goes in 2 hours after meals. When we take him out he doesn't even seem to try. Looks like we will be at the vet first thing in the morning. Has anyone gone through this before?

May be because he didn't eat his breakfast as to why no poo. Sami does this sometimes, not wanting to eat or doesn't eat much of her dog food. Funny how she usually has room for her bannana, cottage cheese, yogurt (peach or nanner flavored) and of course there is always room for cookies. Is Enzo running a fever or is he dehydrated? I'd keep an eye on him see how things(poo) are this morning. Keep me posted and good luck.
We have never been happy to see him go this morning. He is looking better but he is still going very loose. He doesn't seem to be dehydrated or have a fever. He has been drinking alot since yesterday afternoon and ate all his breakfast this morning. He is back to bouncing off the walls this morning.
Watch the very loose stools also ...they can be dehydrating...glad he's doing better!
Forgot to mention I've seen on here about feeding them canned pumpkin to help with diarrhea. We bought a can and have it in the pantry just in case. How is Enzo doing now?
I agree, canned pumpkin is great -- even helps Corgis lose weight. Just make sure it's the unseasoned variety of canned pumpking, not the ready-to-make, as the spices will cause this very problem.
Sounds like he's doing good now!

Every once in a while Soffie will refuse to eat. We leave her food down for half an hour, if she hasn't eaten by then we pick it up. Sometimes she'll eat at dinner, but sometimes she won't. And usually if she's eaten less, she poos less. I don't think there's cause for alarm, it usually takes 24 hours for "little bugs" to work it's way out of their systems. A little boiled hamburg and white rice can help with diarrhea. The thing you want to watch for is dehydration. Dogs can go for awhile without food, but if he's not drinking then that could be cause for alarm.
Thanks everyone! Enzo is back to normal today. I used the rice diet before with our Jack Russell but he was 13 at the time and ate table scraps at times. I was concerned with giving rice to Enzo since he is our first puppy and only eats his food. Thankfully he is doing better.
Good news! I have adult Corgis and they occasionally go through the very same problem you described with Enzo. Dogs are just like us, once in a while we just get our systems stressed and out of sync. It's just unfortunate that these things always happen on a weekend when the vets are closed. You did the right thing by getting on here and looking for advice -- such a good mommy!
