Corgi pushing his feces around

Anyone ever have this problem?
This actually just started occurring last week.
When both my girlfriend and I are off to work on the weekdays we would place our pup in a playpen with a crate on one end, water bowl, chew toys, and a UGODOG on the other end.
This is the UGODOG (http://www.ugodog.net/).
He poops right on the UGODOG but as of lately I have been noticing that all of the poop are being pushed onto the sides of the UGODOG or right into the opening of the grates.
From what it seems, it looks as if he is trying to keep the UGODOG clean by hiding his poops.

A little bit of information on him.
He is 13 weeks old.
He has started sleeping in his crate for 1 week. He has not had an accident in his crate.
When we are home we consistently take him outside for number 1 and 2.
I do not think he is eating his poop because when he poops outside he would walk away from it and not turn around trying to eat it.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

it sounds like you're giving him too much space. I suggest you try confining him to just the crate when you're at work. (hopefully you can get home at mid day to give him a potty break) Puppies are like babies. They eat, sleep, pee & poo.

Both Soffie & Griffyn are crate trained right from day one. Neither one of them ever had an accident in their crate. But it's important to be diligent. Always take him out to potty before you put him up in the crate. And take him out to potty immediately after getting him out of the crate. At night take up his water a couple hours before bedtime. Believe me, if you always treat the crate like it's a good, safe place for him and never never never use it as a timeout place or a punishment place, the crate will be your best friend. Sounds like you're doing the right thing when you're home. We used this "mantra" ... when in doubt, take them out!

BTW..... both Soffie and Griffyn were crated every night until each of them was a year old. (they are 1 year apart) And during the day if they had to be left alone until they each were a year old. Crate training will also come in handy when you're traveling and staying in hotels or visiting family and friends. Good Luck!!!

They don't find poo disgusting the same as we do. It takes a little longer to house train the way you are doing it but it still can be done. It really depends on if you can let him out during your work day. 13 weeks is too young to go all day without a potty break so if this is your only alternative then don't worry about it. But know that he will possibly play with his poops. A walk before you leave him all day will help.
