I always find any article written about the Queen and her Corgis very fascinating. This is a long article with a lot of history of the Queen and her Corgis. It is a sad end for her love but this decision of hers shows her dedication and responsibility to the breed she adores. Why the Queen is giving up her Corgis?

I LOVE IT!!! Beautifully written. LOL That was magnificant and thank you for taking the time to type this out for Bronwyn. A fine speaker I must say.
This article is too good to be true...what a chuckle it gave me. I also own the book King Titus Rules...it is delightful...Corgis are truly big dogs in little dogs bodies...what loves they are. Marion
coming from a editorial perspective, just judging by the cutlines and article im not sure how reliable that news source is. Who knows!
Wow! I'm in awe at the chronological description, with supporting photos, in the article! Thank you for posting! And Thank You, Queen Elizabeth, with all my heart for introducing such a fine breed to the whole world so that the rest of us may know and feel the devotion, loyalty, and unconditional love that you have known!
Good article - thanks for posting.
"...was once knocked unconcious when a group of Corgis dragged him down the stairs" Hahahahaha - the visual of a group of corgis dragging someone down a set of stairs is too funny! LOL!
great article and I think she's doing the right thing, even though it will be sad to see the royal line of corgis go. I never knew she had so many dorgis too.
Love the photo of HRM with the corgis in Canada. You know she ditched the dignitary she was meeting with and probably squeeled "Ooh! Corgis!" while running over to them for a pet!
Hello there. Brit Corgi owner here...new to Corgi.com.
Mmmm...all I can say is, don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail! I've recently read something about the Queen looking in to breeding Cardigans...but I can't remember where I saw that. I bet if you wrote to the Palace to ask, you'd get a royal reply!
I recently acquired our pup from South Wales and I know there are a few reputable breeders in Wales. It took us a few months to find a litter and It's true to say that you don't see Corgis much in the UK. For most people it's probably not 'cool' to have the same dog as the Queen, as they just appear to be pampered lap dogs in the press (and probably ARE!). I'm looking forward to taking our pup out for the first time tomorrow. All the neighbours who have seen him over the last week or so have loved the look of him and most agree that they haven't seen any Corgis in Cheltenham, where we live, so we're looking forward to being admired!!
Hi Gillian!
Sidney gets admired quite a bit here in San Diego too. He's a therapy dog and we visited a new home today. Them moment we walked through the door, I heard an elderly lady yell loudly "Corgi! Please bring the corgi over here, I must see him!" She just loved him, and he elicits squeals of delights as we walk through the halls going from room to room. I hope he does not develop a complex!
Hi - Only just seen your comment. How lovely..a therapy dog. I don't think we have those over here, or at least I've not heard about them. We have dogs for the blind and disabled but not ones you just take to places to make people feel good! Fox certainly is still attracting much attention for being the apparently the only Corgi in Cheltenham. People cross the road to see him, thinking, from a distance that I have a fox cub on a lead! They're pleased to see him with a tail too!
Yep, my husband is from England and he mentioned the same thing, that people wouldn't want to have the same dogs as the Queen for fear of people thinking they were just rabid fans of the royal family or something. I had seen stats online and was a bit surprised at just how rare Corgis are in England.
Sigh.
I must continually remind everybody who complains about my housekeeping, "Just 'cause we got a coupla corgwyn doesn't mean this is Buckingham Palace."
