Cardigan Rescue

Is it just me? I can't seem to find hardly any cardigan rescue sites. I am located in Illinois and am considering adding to our family of 5. I've got myself on a list for a pup but was interested in rescue also. Can anyone help?

As far as I know there is only one national cardi rescue and they have no dogs at this time

Have you looked at www.petfinder.com? If you do a search for a "corgi" you might be surprised what you might find. The search results begin with those dogs closest in proximity to your location and expands outward from where you are located. Good luck!!

Oh, I didn't realize they were being born so soon! You'll have your puppy in no time. Which litter is your deposit on? I saw that the breeder had two young adults available too. Did you inquire about them at all?

I did, im hesitant about getting a young adult only because my two pems i have now had behavior problems from not being socialized, house broken etc, and I got them both at 6 months. I decided to go with a puppy so I could get my hands on him early and properly socialize him and handle him and things like that. I've got my deposit on the blue/black litter. The Dam is due around Dec, 14th. I got an email from the breeder today saying that the mom was nesting and getting into her maternal mode. I've got this new mom feeling all over again, and I can't stop being excited (even with having 5 dogs). I teach a puppy kindergarten class so im especially excited to bring him to it!!!

That is exciting! Are you hoping for a black or blue? I wish I worked somewhere I could bring my dog. How fun would that be for me and him?

We wanted a puppy for the same reason, often times adults and even older puppies already have some issues due to how they were being raised. I wanted to be responsible for our puppy's development. I would however be comfortable getting an adult from a breeder I'm familiar with and know they train and socialize well.
