Jackson is about a year and a half old. He has been on Heartgard and Advatix since we got him. He gets a long walk in the morning, crates during the day, and scampers around the house until bed time.

In recent weeks I have started to really notice the frequency with which he shakes his head ... almost a full body shake ... and the flappity flap of his giant corgi ears. Sounds like a helicopter about to take off. When he was at the vet about a week ago the vet said his ears were clean as can be - said they were some of the cleanest ears he had ever seen.

He mentioned it might be something related to allergies. All I know is ... like when he first gets out of the crate ... he will often scrub his face against the carpet, roll over and wraggle his back against the floor, then hop up and flap flap flap. And he will flap flap a bit while we are walking.

*sigh* Maybe it's nothing and I have just grown sensitive to the flapping. But if the vet says his ears are fine ... well ...

Was just wondering if any corgi veterans have any input. Thanks ...

You are his owner and even if the vet says his ears are clean he could have a yeast infection! Possibly ear mites but usually with them they will have dirty ears but not always! Did the vet take a Qtip and check deeper in his ear? They then can look under a microscope to see if anything is moving. My rescue Wiley has chronic yeast and has to be treated with a special drop after an ear wash several hours before! This happens about every 4 months! Poor girl!

I would definitely ask more questions!
yes, I'd ask a few more questions as head flapping usally is a sign of something wrong. You can try buying a nice gentle ear cleaner and use it at home and see if it helps they also sell over the counter mite medicine if that is a worry for you.
good luck ! Food may play a factor also so maybe give a grain free version if your not already a try
