Sparty was due for a teeth cleaning when he hurt his knee so we had the vet check after he was out. Between his extreme fear of the vet and very muscular thighs the vet could not tell anything with the initial visit. i guess spoiled would be a good description of mine too!
Our corgi is almost 2, and we noticed that she was putting less pressure on her back right leg and struggling to get up after naps. We watched and waited for a couple of months, but after it came back last week, we took her to the vet and got x-rays done. The whole time we were thinking she may have had hip dysplasia since it is common in corgis, but the vet said that she might have partially torn her ACL. We're still waiting for final confirmation from the radiologist, but honestly it could be anything. If your little guy is still struggling to get up after long periods of rest, I would take him in just to make sure. It could be a number of things, and bringing him to the vet is worth the peace of mind :)
