there isnt any corn or by products, etc. now this product for a 5 pound bag for only ten dollers, so it is cheaper but if it dosnt sound good to you let me know plz:) im not sure what to do, keep them on wellness or this brand. but here are wellness ingredients:

The Taste of The Wild is a grain-free product, however, it is made by Diamond pet food company. I do not like Diamond, and personally wouldn't buy any of their products. In my opinion, they are just a little shady and I don't completely trust their "high-quality" foods because they make so many low quality foods, I have a tough time believing their "better" foods are really that different. I believe Diamond is one of the companies who won't answer whether or not their fish contain ethoxyquin (a highly toxic substance), so I assume they do because why wouldn't you admit that you avoid using harmful substances?
Wellness is a good brand, I would stick with it. If you want something even better, get the Wellness CORE, it is a grain-free. I feed my kitty Nature's Variety Instinct, which is grain-free and very high in protein (which you need for cats). She does great on it.

Just found this article about Diamond and Ethoxyquin. I would stay away from anything produced by Diamond (which is actually A LOT of brands).

I have a serious issue with pet food companies putting blueberries and stuff in dog food, and in catfood even more so. A cat is an obligate carnivore and there is no proof I am aware of that they can utilize the nutrients in blueberries, or peas, or sweet potatoes. The grain/starch in catfood is more or less a binder so the dry food keeps its shape/shelf-life, etc, and all those fancy ingredients add cost and probably do nothing for the cat.
Marketing. It's all marketing.
I would find the most cost-efficient food out there that has chicken meal (or salmon or whatever) as the first ingredient and has the fewest number of ingredients in it, that is palatable to the cat.
I had a very hard time when I was looking for canned foods when my kitty was on her last days. So many of the "good" ones were packed with weird veggies, and I kept thinking "why?" I don't think it hurts, but every single ingredient you introduce is a potential allergen and as I said, there is not really research I am aware of supporting the nutritional benefit of raspberries to a cat.

Like everyone said, TOTW is a Diamond food and a lot of us don't like Diamond products.
My other concern is that a lot of cats don't do well on grain-free foods because they're very dense and dry; digesting them requires a lot of water. If you have a cat who doesn't drink eagerly and copiously (and many do not) grain-free foods can be a bad idea.
We use Orijen for our cat, but he's a huge drinker and will come down and tell me if his water bowl is getting low. Our previous cats have been on conventional (with grain) kibbles like Felidae and Solid Gold.

A good option if you are concerned about hydration too is the Honest Kitchen brand of dehydrated raw. Unfortunately, my kitty will have none of it so it doesn't work for us. Hydration is a valid concern though, and really I would think with any dry food, but more so with the grain-free I suppose. However, my cat has a pretty severe intolerance to grains so for us it is either grain-free or raw meat and bones, which she won't do.

i was worried about that as well. they do drink alot of water. they do let me know if the bowl is empty. i had them on solid gold but they didnt like it for some reason. we knew that are dogs do well on wellness so thats why we put them on that. i do thank you for telling me about this

thank you for your options and the info, that's why i posted on here:) i wasnt sure what to make of it. i talked to my hubby and we both agreed that even tho is more its very healthy for them and they love it. a 5 pound bag last 4 weeks. i didnt know that the TOTW was from diamond and i know that they have recalls all the time. and thank you for the link, it was very helpful! and like you said beth, i wish they didnt put all that fruit in it. they seem to do very well and are vet said they are healthy but i do worry about them to much lol
