On a whim, I decided to check out the Pems that were entered at the Westminster show just a few days ago, and imagine my suprise when I saw that my own corgi's sire (Ch. Merit's Heartfelt Thanks) was there and won best of opposite sex!  I was so surprised and excited that I just had to share!

Does anyone else have a corgi sired/out of a dog that showed at Westminster this year?  (It'd be super if I could locate any of my dog's siblings :)

Your story gives me chills. What a treasure these breeders are. I am so pleased that you are in contact with Anne Bowes and have a part of her in your Heronsway Corgi. I am very familiar with her Corgis but never had the pleasure of meeting her. I have owned & studied Corgis since I was a teenager and I fall more in love with Corgis every day. Thank you for your kind words about Lucy. She is a little treasure. BTW, I posted some photos of a new litter from Judy Zimmerman Hart. I had the joy of owning two of her gorgeous girls, including Maggie, the little 1980 Corgi calendar girl. She's a wonderful breeder and is one of the authors of the Illustrated Standard, a must-have for all Corgi lovers. Lucy's breeder, Tim Mathiesen (Nebriowa) is also one of the authors.
Our little Ragnar's auntie was in the Cardi group this year. His mother's sister--Escher Farm's Four on the Floor. She didn't win anything, but it's still pretty cool. And apparently his 1/2 brother (same mother, different sire) is #2 cardigan in the country right now.
Pretty cool is right! Congrats to Ragnar's family. BTW, I love the name of Ragnar's aunt, Four on the Floor. That was a very English (Welsh?) thing re. training a Corgi not to jump to greet owners and visitors, "four on the floor," at all times was the correct corgi behavior. It came with the warning that what's cute in a puppy is not cute in an adult dog. I have to add that I love when Lucy greets us with an exuberant 2 on the floor. None of my friends seem to mind it either. In fact, they encourage it!
Ahh, I didn't know where the name came from. I just assumed she was a zippy puppy and all four on the floor were in motion. They call her Four.

I'd say 2 on the floor isn't so bad with a little squatty dog lol. Now, a big lab is another story--cute but a bit much.
Four on the floor was part of the credo of good corgi behavior. It was part of corgi training 101 back in the day. I had a feeling that no one these days has heard the training cry, "four on the floor." But you have a Lab as well, so you understand how this advice could be a good thing––esp. back in the day when women wore pantyhose and one corgi jump could ruin an expensive outfit. Since I live in sweats or jeans, a corgi jump can't ruin anything I wear. : ) Plus, all of our friends are laid back. After all, this is So. CA, haha.

This is two years later, of course, but I just found this post, and I have a Corgi sired by Merit's Heartfelt Thanks (aka Liam)! The Dam was Dragonjoy New Girl in Town. My corgi's name is Devyn and she was born August, 2011. I live in Seattle and I got Devyn in Omak, WA from a woman who bought Devyn from the original breeder.

How about you? I saw your pictures, which one of your pups is from Liam? Your corgis are gorgeous! I'm so happy to have found a relative of my puppy!

I had never heard of "four on the floor" until today.  Ironically, we are training the boys that they won't get patted unless they have "four paws on the ground".
